How To: KING PIGEON
SWIPE: Benefits, Common Mistakes, Warm Ups
▫️Begin in pigeon pose
▫️Bend back knee
▫️With left open palm, reach back for left raised leg
▫️With a firm grip on your foot rotate elbow forward and up, until elbow is pointed toward the sky
▫️Take a few breaths here
▫️Roll shoulders back and down, chest lifted
▫️Maintain your balance
▫️Reach right arm up and back, elbow pointing toward ceiling as you reach for left wrist or foot
▫️After a few breaths, hug elbows toward each other, gently bend head back, until crown touches foot
▫️Keep chest lifted
▫️Stay here for 5 breaths
▫️If you are unable to flip your grip comfortably, focus on increasing the flexibility in your shoulders, triceps & lats
▫️You can also use a strap if you are unable to reach your foot

The holiday season can bring up a lot of body and food anxiety. It’s everywhere- the worry about overeating, the well-meaning fitness jokes about ‘earning’ your thanksgiving meal, and the attempts to not eat/ diet the day prior or after (don’t do it).
I used to hate my body and punish myself by either withholding food or overeating.
I hated my narrow hips and muscular thighs. And I was fucking terrified of intuitive eating aka eat what you want when you want it. I thought everything would just spiral out of control.
But there are two truths I have discovered:
1. When you listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs. The only way to stop overeating is to ALSO stop undereating.
2. We cannot change the fundamental shape of our bodies. We just can’t. We either choose to love it or spend all of our time being insecure. When we make ourselves feel small, it is ONLY hurting us.
I choose love. I choose acceptance. I hope you do too.

I swear... the more flexible my high and low lunges get.. the easier it is to shave my legs (which usually happens .. if I’m motivated.. once a month)😂🙌 Ladies .. who else feels me on this?

A student told me last night that she was too stiff to do any backbending poses. But after using yoga wheel, she could do an advanced pose. Both of us were surprised and satisfied!

I’ve been super productive this week and I’m fully back into my exercise regime, so I definitely feel like I deserve a weekend off.
It’s crazy how much better you can feel from exercising 30 minutes a day. The benefits are huge! And I’m definitely finally feeling them!

It’s definitely been year full of change (mostly amazing changes, some unsettling changes) but I’m finally feeling a bit more steady. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t forget to reflect on your past year and give yourself credit for everything you have accomplished, not matter how big or small.

All I’ve been doing is yoga and walking for last 2 weeks. I have been struggling to find motivation for a gym workout lately, I find I always do after a trip.
On top of that it’s getting colder and darker... all I want to do it is wear my fleece pjs and drink tea. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today I woke up early and did a HIIT workout, felt soo good to do it. Let’s hope I’ll manage to do more than 1 this week 🤷🏼♀️🙈 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You should speak and think about yourself the way you talk and think about your favourite person. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So do something for yourself whether it’s for your body or your mind!
And if you haven’t done so already today, look in the mirror and give yourself a compliment. Say it out loud not in your head and BELIEVE it!
