I will read the occasional book right when it comes out but mostly I buy them with good intentions and then they just chill out with me. It didn't use to be this way but Overlord makes my reading MUCH MUCH slower than it used to be 🙈 This is one of those books 🙈 However, look at how pretty it is outside 😍 I think this is my favorite snow book so far ❄️ I could take all kinds of pictures of this book this winter 😁

  • "And when you love someone, you don't always see them realistically." - PC Cast, House Of Night 🖤 __________________________________________ I don't think these books are in the right order, but I adored this series in high school! 😄 I've been travelling around London, England for my second time this year and I absolutely LOVE it! We're going to the Warner Brothers tour tomorrow (HARRY POTTER) and I'm so excited. The day after we're seeing the Book Of Mormon! YAY! I love plays. Do you travel? • 2019 is coming sooner and sooner, which makes me think about all of the new books that will be coming out. One of my highly anticipated 2019 book is The Wicked King by @blackholly . • Natalia and I both loved The Cruel Prince. I’ve already read Wicked King and spoiler alert, I loved it as much as the first. Natalia is super jealous that I read it before her.😂 • If you have read The Cruel Prince, let us know what you thought about it and if you are excited for The Wicked King! ~Maddie Thank you so much @littlebrownyoungreaders for the Wicked King ARC! ••• !!!Cruel Prince spoilers up ahead!!! ••• The Wicked King summary: After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her younger brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished. When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world. #books #bookstagram #booklover #igreads #bookish #wickedking #reading #yalit #yareads #instareads #bookworm #bookaholic #read #bookaddict

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ // This was a pretty great book though it started slow for me. The chapters move quickly between the three narratives following a Jewish boy in Nazi Germany, a Syrian boy, and a Cuban girl - all separated by time but similar in that they and their families are forced to leave their homes and become refugees. The Syrian storyline hit hardest for me since a lot of the awful things that happen are mirrored in the news today. • Once you give each character a chance to grow on you, you won’t be able to but this book down. I kept trying to figure out how all these characters would eventually cross paths and didn’t see the end coming. • #middlegradebooks #middlegrade #middlegradefiction #alangratz #audiobooks #audiobook #bookreview #bookrecommendations #yareads #yareader

  • Today on the blog: Please give a big Hoosblog welcome to Sally Henson! Sally Henson is the author of the More Than Best Friends series. She grew up in rural Midwest wandering through the woods and creeks. She spent some time south of Houston, Texas and loved every minute. Those experience has been a tremendous influence on her writing, which lends credibility to the voice of her characters. . melaniehoo.com/hoosblog

  • This book was a recommendation by @linda.reads and I ended up loving this more than I thought, which was pleasantly surprising! Here we have the story of Marcus Goldman, an author who's suffering from writer's block after enjoying the success of his first book (dude just went to parties and seduced women instead of concentrating on his craft, what else did he expect). He visits his old college professor and his inspiration for writing, Harry Quebert, but then gets caught up in the mystery behind a murder that happened in 1975. Every single character in this book is incredible. Now, I'm not saying they're all likeable - a few are disturbing and Harry himself has done some pretty weird things. But they are wicked enough to keep you interested. Their actions will make you punch them in the face. I'm also really good at guessing plot twists and, even though I did guess correctly, this book made me doubt myself and I really liked that. Make 👏 me 👏 work 👏 for 👏 it 👏 I wouldn't classify this as a thriller tho, it's more of a mystery. Also don't get intimidated by the fact that this book is thicker than Kanye West's head; it's very easy to read once you get into it. Another one that I highly reccomend! . . . . . . . . . . . . . #bookstagram #booknerd #thetruthabouttheharryquebertaffair #joeldicker #booknerdigans #bookaholic #bookaddict #booksonbooks #instabooks #book #instabook #bookish #booksofinstagram #bibliophile #booklove #booklover #booklife #humansofbookstagram #igreads #yareads #bookoftheday #epicreads #swoonreads #bookstagrampr

  • Grab a book! Read. This is Left Bank Books about a year ago I visited my brother to celebrate, he’s born in November and lived in the city at the time, but between the pages I’m transported to Roseto Valfortore, flipping the page and sipping on a dry wine I’ve mixed with sprite to make it more palatable. It reads... “Roseto Valfortore lies one hundred miles southeast of Rome, in the Apennine foothills of the Italian province of Foggia. In the style of medieval villages, the town is organized around a large central square. Facing the square is the Palazzo Marchesale, the palace of the Saggese family, once the great landowner of those parts. An archway to one side leads to a church, the Madonna del Carmine — Our Lady of Mount Carmine. Narrow stone steps run up the hillside, flanked by closely-clustered two-story stone houses with red tile roofs. For centuries, the paesani of Roseto worked in the marble quarries in the surrounding hills, or cultivated the fields in the terraced valley below, walking four and five miles down the mountain in the morning and then making the long journey back up the hill at night. It was a hard life. The townsfolk were barely literate and desperately poor and without much hope for economic betterment — until word reached Roseto at the end of the nineteenth century of the land of opportunity across the ocean.” Outliers, the Roseto Mystery.

  • ⌨️ • "Every problem has a solution. But after every solution, there's a new problem to tackle, some new challenge to take on. You don't stop after you solve one thing You keep going, you find a new way and a new path, try to do better and create better. tearing something down isn't the end; doing something great, or better, something right, is. Or maybe there isn't such a thing as an end goal at all. You accomplish something, and then you shift, ready to accomplish the next. You keep solving one problem after another until you change the world." - Marie Lu, Wildcard // hello hello I just finished this book earlier today and I think I'm going into a slump bc of it. I enjoyed his book very much, and gah it's probably due for a reread soon :,) • Q: what book(s) do you rave about?

  • The upcoming title: EXILE OF THE SKY GOD is now up for preorder at a special price at Amazon + Barnes and Noble! Isn't it pretty!? (Link in bio) I am so excited to share with you a myth that is very close to my heart. If you're a lover of mythology and Ancient Egypt, then this is going to be a must have for your TBR list in 2019. SYNOPSIS: A skillfully crafted, clever adaptation of the lore behind one of most powerful gods in ancient history. ☀️🐍 A brand new standalone bursting with the vibrancy and mystery of Ancient Egypt. Exile of the Sky God propels readers through a mythical journey of self discovery with revelations even a god could not see coming. Sky God, Horus--an emerging Egyptian deity oppressed by ancient ways--resolves to make his mark in the land of mortals. There, he discovers that small miracles trigger great change, and a quest for power ensues. The search leads him to the Temple of Ra, where a priestess shatters his worldview, compelling him to see humanity through different eyes. Future ambitions transformed, Horus finds himself chasing a dream that sparks controversy amongst the gods and puts the lives of both mortals and immortals at stake. With a bruised ego and crippled magic, he must risk everything to set things right before chaos reigns and all he holds sacred is lost...

  • "One should never save cake for later when it can be eaten now." ▫️ -- Winter by Marissa Meyer ▫️ ▫️▫️▫️ Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I'm home after a long a chaotic day. It's so disorienting getting home at noon, but having worked a 10 hour shift. Soon, it will be 12 hour shifts. 😪 I'll sleep next year right? 😂 We just got a Half Price Books store and I talked the Husband into going with me yesterday. I did manage to leave with only 2 books, but it was hard not to buy more. I see many more trips there in my future. I'm almost done with my audio reread of Strange the Dreamer. What are you currently reading? ▫️ ▫️▫️▫️ Day 19. #readgushgratitude {Give a shoutout to your reading buddies} Definitely @javalotta!! #novinbooks18 {Book you wish you have} I would love more books from this series! #allthebooksnov18 {Food on the cover} #bluelovesbookishnov18 {Favorite book conclusion} #winter #marissameyer

  • “Sometimes a moment is so remarkable that it carves out a space in time and spins there, while the world rushes on around it. This was one such.” Strange The Dreamer by @lainit _______________________________________________________ Book Review - Strange The Dreamer by @lainit . . The story focuses on young librarian Lazlo Strange a war orphan who likes to let his dreams run wild. One of his main fascinations in life has been learning about the mysterious city of Weep and what exactly became of it. The other protagonist is Sarai a mysterious young woman who has been trapped inside a palace with her family for many years. . Overall, absolutely loved this! The story was fantastic, the world building phenomenal and every word @lainit wrote in this book was like sweet nectar to bees. Lazlo and Sarai are both likeable characters who are surrounded by mystery. Uncovering the mysteries of Weep and it’s people kept me reading on . This book is a must read for lovers of fantasy books. I’m so excited to read the second book “Muse of Nightmares”, But will have to wait till next year for the paperback 😭 . QOTD - Are there any fantasy books/series you fell in love with this year? #booksarelife #bookaholic #epicreads #booksofinstagram #yareads #booklion #bookaholic #bookishfeatures #letsread #reading #strangethedreamer #lainitaylor #instabooks #booksofinsta #booklion #booknerdigans
