This is one of my favorite hikes in Kauai by Ke’e Beach in the North Shore where the road dead ends and nature takes over 🌊 where the most beautiful part of the ocean meets the mountains! Dreaming of going back soon!
Famous Spanish architect and modern marketing. Casa Mila and casa Battlo are two creations of Gaudi in Barcelona. The first one is usually considered more famous, may be because this one is really huge. My favorite was Casa Battlo though - it looks much more fun from outside. This time in Barcelona I managed to get inside of both of them, and now I know that Casa Battlo is also more fun from inside and, what's even better, has a much cooler marketing team. Casa Mila inside is a row of tiny rooms which you walk through with help of a dull audio guide. Casa Battlo is full of light and color, shapes and patterns coming alive with help of 3D visual guide (well, flying turtles! sold) and... drum roll... night parties with live music and mimosas at the rooftop. Tell me more about marketing not being that important.
“Nota di costume: a New York si guarda e si attraversa, punto. Che manco foste a San Biagio, dove un mezzo motorizzato passa ogni 10 minuti e quindi lo puoi pure capire se ti bendi e attraversi la strada. A New York, come dire, la possibilità dello stira e ammira è già più elevata”.•

Anakena and Ahu Nao-Nao. Rapa Nui / Easter Island.
Based on oral history, Anakena was the original landing site and first settlement of Rapa Nui by Polynesian chief Hotu Matu'a, which earns it the nickname Hanju rau o te 'ariki' - The Bay of the King. The settlement occured somewhere between 300 and 1200 AD.
History and media often talks about Vikings and the great lengths they traveled with their long boats, particularly in history of the Northern Hemisphere, but the possible lengths Polynesian settlers traveled across the Pacific via canoes is remarkable.
