Had been continuously moving since Wednesday night, well I am a lazy person in general but when it comes to the days I have travel and have a chance to see what I always wanted, I can walk Kms for hours surviving on few hours sleep per day if I have to without complaining.
Crossing from Jordan to Egypt was more pleasant than I thought. As part of the Sinai agreement, I crossed over from Aqaba to Taba without having to pay a tourist visa for Egypt or for Jordan on the way back. This visa is valid for 2 weeks and is only available if you don’t leave the Sinai region (Cairo isn’t included). There’s so much to do in this area, with the prettiest sea views along the entire strip... I really didn’t need to leave Sinai to enjoy an amazing break. #egypt
High above Santiago✈️🏙
This picture really capture the beauty of the city surronded by the Andes Mountains. I think this is magnificent💫
Tout en haut de Santiago dans mon vol vers Punta Arenas. ✈️🏙 Cette photo rend hommage à la beauté de Santiago bordée par la cordillière des Andes. Je trouve ça si magnifique 💫
Some places are like a doorway to the past. You can imagine strange people building, laughing and living their old life right where you stand. You can feel their presence in the air, as if they were here a moment ago. And years after you'll be gone, their mark on the world will remain, solid and powerful. It only takes a small stone to send waves through an entire lake 🐾
And the last mountain of the 5 of the British Isles was scafell pike, England's highest at 978m.
Did love this one because it was the only ones with views at the top.
You could see Blackpool and the Isle of Man etc.
So thats the highest mountains of Wales, northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland and England in 253 days. I wasn't counting, nor rushing, I've just googled that, I've always loved my pointless stats.
I might do a separate post on which was the best. But what do I base it on. Is it fair to judge it just coz one had better weather than the other.
This one wins for views at the top anyway, easy, was the only one lol.
It was a really dry day making the boulder field easy.
I was done by 1pm. I so could of done helvellyn, also on bucket list, but me and lew reckon we can do 1,2,3,4,5 in a day. If we have weather like this. Be easy.
Anyway, bucket list win; climb the 5 highest points of each country of the British Isles.
Oh, and Irelands was the best 🍀 #grounding
Went home after this. I did wanna hit Hadfield for the league of gentlemen town but it can wait. It's only by Manchester. Just over 1500 miles in all on this trip. So much more than my usual cheap flights 😣 but i did get to knock 10 things off my bucket list coz of these 2 trips. Thankyou Scotland, you were amazing x
Traveling alone will be the scariest, most liberating, life changing experience of your life. But I've learned that you will never really travel alone. The world is full of friends waiting to get to know you.
Here is to all the kind loving people I met along the way 🥂
Withnail and I film locations. Part 1 #whyhasmyheadgonenumb
One of my favourite films ever. Reminds me of uni, youth and a lot of alcohol and good times #iceinthecider
Ok, so this is a little throwback from Scotland part 1, which leads into Scotland part 2.
Just off the motorway, by Penrith, on part 1, about 11pm, I said lets go and have a look at the payphone from Withnail and I in Bampton, it's only off the m6.
So we did, but it was pitch black and the only light source was from the car.
Two of my mates went on a tour of Scotland years ago and said there's a book to sign in there where fans of the film write quotes and sign it.
I looked for their entry, from 2013 ish but the book in there now has only got 2018 entries so more people must do this than you think.
The first 2 pics are Scotland on tour part 1, and the rest (in the daylight) are Scotland on tour part 2.
I always knew there were more filming locations round there but part 1 was too dark, on Scotland part 2, it wasn't so i went on a Withnail location hunt, or should I say poach #dontthreatenmewithadeadfish
I visited the payphone for second time that year. Signed it for second time. But I was a little lost then. I had researched it but I couldnt get reception, so had to go and ask at a house nearby #imnotfromlondonyouknow and they said go speak to the guy who runs the garage, he was there when they filmed it #thefuckerwillruetheday
So i found him, Stead, nice bloke, and we spoke about it for ages. Turns out they borrowed his tractor for the film and it's him driving it before the actor took his place #ofcoursehesthefuckingfarmer
He said he only got paid about £100 but the food they put on was amazing #iwantsomethingsflesh
He'd kept some of the handmade filmmakers signs which he'd put up in his garage.
It was really good to hear his tales, and the best thing was he told me exactly where the locations of the scenes locally were #anexpertonbullsyouarenot
You will notice I'm starting to need a shave around this point, but didn't know how sleeping out of the car but as Danny says, 'i dont advise a haircut man, hairdressers are in the employment of the government'
