  • Anxiety does not discriminate. It knows no color, shape, size or religion. It hits you like a bus when you least expect it and usually at the worst possible time. . . Anxiety is fairly new to me and started to develop during my pregnancy with Olivia. It hits its peak shortly before I weaned her at 19 months post partum and my nursing aversions were at a high. I had no idea how to cope and I was unconsciously pulling my hair out any time she would latch on and nurse. In those difficult weeks, I knew I needed to overcome this or at least do my best to win the battle I was losing with myself. . . I began working on my mental and physical health and putting more time into myself. My sole focus had been Olivia since she was born and my self care was put on the back burner, which I'm sure every momma can relate to. It was time for me to focus a little more on myself and fill up my cup. If my cup was always empty, how was I going to pour more of myself into the people around me. Fitness became my outlet for how I was feeling and allowed me to feel somewhat sane again. . . Just because I'm learning to cope doesn't mean I don't still have my lows. I am not here to sugarcoat my journey with anyone. This is me. Anxiety lives here. 💕

  • These two.. honestly I can't keep up. One minute they are worst enemies, next minute, best friends!! 👭 The closest thing I had to a sister was my cuzzie and yep, she's my best friend. We barely fought though but that's probably because we didn't live together. 😅 . I love watching the connection between my girls. The frustration, the disgust but also the love and affection. It truly is a blessing to witness, even though some days I wanna tear my hair out!

Kalau korang nak buat guna full recepi boleh tengok dekat blog YatieMemories k . 2 ekor Bawal Mas (potong 3 setiap sekor sebab takut tak muat periuk) *1 biji Bawang Besar (pilih paling besar) *3 ulas Bawang Putih *1/2 inci halia *1/2 inci kunyit hidup 1 batang kayu manis 1 batang serai ketuk 1 tangkai daun kari 1 cawan air asam jawa 2 sb rempah Kari Ayam/Daging 4 sb rempah Kari Ikan 2 batang cili merah (belah 2) 1 biji tomato (belah 2) Air secukupnya Garam secukup rasa . Cara-cara: 1. Blend bahan bertanda (*) dan tumis dengan sedikit minyak kesemua bahan kecuali air asam jawa, daun kari, cili merah, tomato, air dan garam . 2. Kemudian masukkan air asam jawa, gaul dan diikuti dengan ikan . 3. Tambahkan air dan gaul kesemuanya sehingga sekata . 4.   • Here comes half term! . When I first started blogging 4 years ago, I called my site ‘Admissions Of A Working Mother’. . Following my maternity leave with my first child, the company that I had loved and worked for, for almost a decade treated me so badly that within 6 months of returning to work I knew I had to get out of there. . I knew they would never change and so I had to. . I took a chance, despite my confidence being crushed and not only landed the first job I interviewed for but one that was a brilliant full time promotion. . I felt empowered and started my blog mainly about being a “working Mum” and about the discrimination I had faced during my pregnancy. . Fast forward 4 years, I now have two children and am officially unemployed. I can’t work because my earnings will not cover the child care costs involved. Some days I feel resentful of this and some days I feel lucky that money and circumstance have forced my hand. . And so for the first time since I was 13 (earning £3.25ph selling fags and newspapers on Saturday mornings) I do not have a “job”. . And yet it’s only now, that I am a “stay at home Mum” that I realise what a mother fucker of a “job” this lark really is! . Because the truth is ... every mother is a working mother.   • Babies love swaddling so much. They feel snug, secure and a closeness like they felt in the womb. Have you heard of the 4th trimester?  This is the idea, that babies are born too early and still enjoy the comforts of the womb even though they are out in the world.  That is why they love being swaddled, as they are not used to having a lot of room to move around and it can be a bit disconcerting when they want to calm and settle to sleep. It’s also why they love rocking, swinging and patting – all sensations they enjoyed in the womb. Babies also have a startle reflex where their legs and arms are very jerky especially when they fall asleep, they don’t have control over their movements yet. The swaddle help to inhibit these involuntary movements and stop your baby from waking themselves up. There are a few different ways to swaddle your baby. Altho one thing I keep hearing over and over is the transformation on the inside. Mindset is everything!! 〰️ So what’s stopping you from knocking out some fitness goals this Fall?   • This past week I had to modify almost all my workouts because I would get dizzy quickly or somedays even had to miss a workout entirely - and that’s okay. . . Lately, I’ve been learning to really “ listen to my body”. I feel like I always try to push myself that sometimes it’s to a fault & I need to listen and realize that it’s okay to takes “days off” or modify my workouts. It just means I’m doing the best I can right now. I’m a work in progress but I am learning to love, appreciate, and listen to what is best for my body. . “Embrace and love your body, it is the most amazing thing you will ever own” ❤️

However, for the most part, we are enjoying sweet moments and experiencing a lot less tears. Today, I am just feeling so grateful for our two miracles.   • On Friday night, I got to go to my First Ladies potluck dinner with the women of my church and listen to a sweet friend speak. They also had some amazing handmade goods available for purchase to support rescued teen mothers in Kenya. I was about to buy this gorgeous necklace when I stumbled on these beautiful journals with handmade paper. I immediately knew I needed to paint those beautiful pages. My first time painting on a new texture is always a challenge, but I love this piece nonetheless. It’s a lyric from one of my favorite worship songs. It’s one of only a handful of songs on my phone (I’m not big on iTunes) and I listen to it all. the. time. What really struck a chord with me recently is how I feel God used this song to show me that I’m right where I need to be. I was watching a live video of one of my fellow boss babes and she was talking about how we can empower ourselves and those around us, even when we’re scared that we won’t be doing it right, or have all the answers. In my head I kept saying, “I just need to be brave. I am brave. I have done brave things already. He makes me brave.” All of the sudden, she said, “Be brave. You can do this. Be Brave Babe.” It kind of stopped me in my tracks. It’s not easy, but it’s not supposed to be. Bravery isn’t about coasting in a comfortable space. It’s about being brave enough to listen to that voice that tells you that you know you were meant for more. That HE is leading you to something bigger than yourself, and you ARE brave enough to take those uneven steps to get there. I’m gonna be BRAVER.   • •EBay• . Last week I cleared out my wardrobe! A lot of it was “fast fashion” brands such as Kmart, boohoo and target. There were a few other pieces that were decent brand and quality such as Jeanswest, miss shop and some surf brands. So I’ve listed them all on eBay! Took about 20 mins of my time. I’ve listed them all quite low as I want them gone, but reasonable enough that it’s worth my time to carry 2 kids to the post office 😂😝. This will all go towards funding Christmas!! Every little bit counts!!

Emily gets what is in my breast milk since I am taking probiotics then she gets it too! 🤱🏼 Did you know?? It takes ONE WHOLE YEAR for your gut to recover from ONE round of antibiotics on its own. 😱 Not to mention the processed foods and sugar we put in our bodies on a daily basis, it compromises our gut health.
