  • For our first date, CJ took me longboarding. Now mind you, I was not a longboarder. In fact the only other time I’d touched a longboard, I had stepped up on it with all my weight in one foot and WHAM! Fell on my butt. Banana peel style. So, as you can imagine, the prospect of jumping on one of these contraptions in front of a boy I thought was really cute, scared the crap out of me. But, alas, I was competitive, felt like I had something to prove, and really wanted to impress him. So I went. And I sure did fall. But, I’m pretty sure i impressed him with my... falling (read: ninja) skills? Hey, somehow it worked. 😉⁣⁣ Seven years later, it’s been pretty cool to take our boards with us on our adventures; and every once in a while, we park in a spot that allows us to run up to the top of a hill over and over like kids again, and enjoy the view all the way down.🏄🏻‍♀️🏄🏼‍♂️

  • I can barely believe that Nora's 4th birthday is coming up just around the corner (12 days to be exact). She was just a baby, 😭😭 and now...she is a little girl, 👧complete with her very own thoughts, preferences, and opinions. . Earlier at our campground sale, she wanted this bracelet so bad. When we first looked at it, we realized it was an adult sized bracelet. She had her eye on it still though...even though it slid all the way up her arm. To silence her strong desire to have the bracelet "now!"...we told her to wait patiently, while we look around at all of the other booths, to make sure she didn't find something else she wanted more. We looked around...and didn't find anything else. When we made it back to that booth, I found myself trying to convince her to look at some of the smaller bracelets that might fit her better. I didnt want her to get the big one, only to have it not fit and be something she'd only end up frustrated with. . She unceasingly protested that this was the one she wanted. No doubt about it. . We ended up letting her choose one, and she stuck with the one that she wanted from the beginning. Because that was the one that she wanted all along, the lady offered to size it down for her, so it would custom fit Nora's little wrist. . Nora's persistence, and sticking to what she wanted, showed me that I/we should not change, waiver, or compromise what I/we *really* want, just so something will be easier, or less of a hassle. . It's amazing what our little children teach us in life. As we watch them grow into their own individual little people, I learn so much from them every day. . . ❔❓What is a lesson that your own child (or any child in general) has taught you? ❓❔

  • We stopped in at the Land Between the Lakes Nature Center, and had a grand time! We got there just in time for the Opossum program, in which we got to learn about Opossums, and watch them be fed at their meal time! We continued on and did a self-tour around the rest of the nature center, and were lucky enough to be able to see a coyote, deer, a bald eagle, a bobcat, multiple various kinds of owls, a red tailed hawk, bat roosting boxes, a red wolf, a groundhog, deer, snakes, various turtles, and fish. Phew! Lots of things to see and explore. I always really love places like this, where the kids can learn, and openly explore...and yet not even realize they are learning or doing 'school'. We had a really neat nature center in Springfield, and the kids always loved it! This one was a bit different, although I get that this one here is the Land Between the Lakes specific nature center...so they've got lots more visitor's and traffic, and therefore have lots more to offer! It's actually like a mini-zoo! ✴✴Swipe left for more photos from our day at the Nature Center✴✴ . . Do you and your family love these types of places like we do? Any really cool ones you've visited, that stand out to you? If so...where is it located?

  • Day: 154 Miles driven today: 288 Accum Miles Driven: 16,298 Highlights: . - Up early, driving out of Monument Valley - and heading to our first stop, Four Corners Monument. The landmark is the only point where 4 USA States intersect - Arizona, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. A quirky stop, but a must see if your driving by. . - We then went to the first surprise stop - Mesa Verde. Not originally on our itinerary, was recommend by so many people that we had to add it in. The first National Park to protect a historical area of cultural significance. . - We drove through the Petrified Forest National Park (Thanks @republicofheaven ) . An interesting NP, which actually encapsulates the Painted Dessert, an old Studebaker from the Route 66 days, some Pueblo artifacts and some petrified trees. . - The trip continues south to Tuscon. We visited the Saguaro National Park and saw the amazing Cactus! Was another not planned stop, but SOMEONE accidentally left a 4AM alarm on - so we were up and decided to visit! Amazing!! . - The Titan Missile Museum was the next stop. Another recommendation from @republicofheaven . Part of Americas Nuclear Deterrence from the Cold War Days. An amazing place, that was like walking back in time. The tour took you down into the control room, went through a missile launch procedure and showed you the last remaining Titan Missile! . - Another surprise for @kat4j - an Ostrich Farm! So much more then that, with us feeding donkeys, goats, sheep, rabbits, geese, Lorikeets, Stingrays and Ostrich! Such a well run business, and we enjoyed it immensely (i little too much!!!!). . # of States Visited: 39 Arizona, Utah, IDaho, Wyomming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennesse, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Conneticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Michigan , Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois + Ontario Canada Current Location: Phoenix Arizona

  • It’s a camping life. An Uno game in the morning after a breakfast with freshly baked bread, turkey sausage, and eggs. It’s raining outside. Fireplace is on. Fall is here. Trees are changing colours. 🍁It feels so cozy here. This is home. The best decision ever. Our RV is our home sweet home, rain or sunshine. This slow paced life surrounded by mountains 🏔 by the river, watching eagles 🦅, blue herons, turkey vultures flying over our heads. Soon we will be watching the salmon spawning behind our place. And oh, to wake up every morning to the beautiful sound of many birds. This life of less gives us so much more. The simpler, the better. If home is where our heart is, then ours is definitely here. #rving #rvers #rvingwithkids #fulltimervfamily #fulltimerv #fulltimefamily #beautifulbc #homeschool #homeschoolfamily #simpleisbetter #simplelife #thislife #homesweethome #theycallmeblessed

  • What a day!! I delivered my load I picked up from #Colorado to the spot in #Nebraska. From there I took an empty trailer 75 miles away and dropped it at a shop. On my way to my next pick up, I literally drove through the worst lightening storm in Nebraska. The strikes were so close they turned the dark sky to daylight. And just 15 miles before arriving to my current stop, I saw a shadow of an animal on my right and it was heading right in front of us. Thank God I had time to slow down. Unfortunately, the red car in the opposing lane came flying towards it. Before I knew it, shattered glass, the animal and car parts came flying in our direction. IT WAS AWFUL😭 I had no room to stop on this 2-lane Highway because there were cars behind me. I just remember looking in my driver mirror and seeing the person pull over aggressively to their right. 😭🙏💔 And there were brake lights of the cars that were coming up behind the driver. I said all that to say this, that shook me to my core! I cannot stress enough that if you’re driving in rural areas at night, please be alert and take it slow. I’ve come so close to deer, a bear, an elk, a fox, a skunk, a raccoon and a razor back in the last 5 years. I even had a huge owl slam into my window. It died, my windshield survived. And each time I was driving cautiously. Just be alert always❤️ #drivers #cdltruckers #travelers #rvers #skoolies #vanlife #truckingdivasrock

  • We went to a nearby Marina, at - you guessed it - sunset! Big surprise, huh? 😉☺ This marina was beautiful and there was a pier there that we wanted to walk down. We got some awesome pictures, and we also got to enjoy watching people go fishing from their boats. As we were walking back toward the car, we noticed a ton of fish jumping out of the water! We thought that was super cool. Life on the road isn't always vacation-y, but we do get to experience more of this Earth's beauty. It's so amazing! If you want to see more of the beauty, swipe left. . . What is your favorite time of day?

  • We stopped at Barkley Dam in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. On the drive in, we noticed this tower that was covered in Vultures. Ordinarily, if we aren't or weren't paying attention, we would never have noticed this. I'm so glad we saw it though, because it was amazing to see. There were so many - and we got to see them fly over to the next tower as well. Always remember to look up! Look all around you, so you won't miss all that's around you! . . . Have you ever looked up and seen something that you otherwise would not have seen? Or maybe just seen something really cool, but from a different perspective?
