Hey everyone! I decided to finally do a #meetthebookstagrammer post!
My name is Brooke, I’m 26, and I was born and raised in West Tennessee! The most important things in my life that trump everything else is Jesus and family ❤️. I’m a Scorpio, INFJ, introvert, slytherpuff, all that fun stuff 😂.
When I was a child, my mom and dad would read to me all the time and it set fire to my love of books. About the age of 16 my focuses shifted and I stopped reading except for a book here and there until December of ‘17 when I discovered @jobis89 account and I was reminded of my love for reading. I started into the world of bookstagram and it’s been so amazing! I’ll read any genre except for romance, non-fiction, and contemporary, but my favorite is fantasy and I’m a Lord of the Rings die hard fan. 😆
I have 4 ferrets, Ghost (8), Drogo (3.5), Daenerys (2.5), and Podrick (2.5) and I love them all so much! I got Drogo first in 2015 and I’ve been addicted every since. I got Ghost two months after that, Dany in summer 2016, and Podrick in the spring of 2017. They’re a handful but they’re my world!
I love Marvel, DC, Dr Who., Supernatural, Star Wars, Star Trek (the old ones, not crazy about the new stuff), Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, LOTR, Parks and Rec, The Office, etc. I also love playing video games! Mostly stuff like Skyrim, Assassins Creed, and Witcher. While I love sitting on my butt and playing VG or binging a tv show, I also love all things outdoors! Hiking, skiing, kayaking, camping, etc.
Two random but important facts: I am a serious donut addict and before I die I need a library like Belle’s. Thanks for reading my rambling if you made it this far! 😂
What’s your favourite book by Virginia Woolf? I adore A Room of One’s Own, but The Years is my favourite. The edition pictured above was given to me by my Grandad, it was the same edition he kept with him at university and it has since sparked my love of Woolf’s work. ♥
This book is AMAZING! I’m not into paranormal romances, they really aren’t my thing, but this book blew me away. Rosalind and Archer’s love story was real, passionate and significant. If you’re into paranormal romance and even if your not READ this book I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. @authorceceferrell it releases tomorrow 10/24.
I’m living with a ghost.
I’m in a place I never thought I’d be: adrift in a sea of confusion and unfulfilled dreams. My life, my career, my marriage.
When my husband, Dan, asks me to join him on an island for an extended work project, I hope it will be enough to salvage our relationship.
So I go. Then Dan gets pulled away for his job, and I'm left alone in this unfamiliar place.
Before I even realize it’s happening, I’m falling in love with this island and pulled in by the magnetism of a century-old spirit.
The longer I’m on the island, the less my life resembles the one I lived before. When the time comes for me to leave, will I be able to? Or will my bond with a dead man keep me tied to the island?

Currently in Norwich, taking some much needed time to chill a little and spending as much time as I can with my week-old niece. She is a dream so, admittedly, the many books I’m reading/ want to read are taking a bit of a back seat!
.... ~ ....
Still, Norwich is England’s first City of Literature so I have already paid a visit to one of my favourite second-hand bookshops in the city ( J.R. & R.R. Ellis Booksellers) and I suspect it won’t be the last one I visit while I’m here!
.... ~ ....
Do you have a favourite bookshop either in the UK or wherever in the world you live? I’d love to know! ✨
a cuddly, autumnal old photo of mine. featuring my pup! 🎃 here’s a cozy question for you all: would you rather watch autumn films in a candlelit room or spend the night with close friends (or with family or by yourself) in a fairy light lit room? this was so hard for me, but i’m choosing watch autumn films in a candlelit room! 🕯🍂
NOW LIVE!!! Seducing Bran by Jules Barnard is available now!!! "These Cade brothers don't fall easily, but they do fall hard." - Knightly Reading "Great characters, fun banter and good story makes this a great read." - Amazon Reviewer
The wrong brother…
Ireland needs a fresh start, and her cousin convinces her to take a chance on a charismatic bad-boy with a wicked boat and a killer body. But when Ireland shows up for the popular Lake Tahoe booze cruise he runs, she finds his handsome older brother at the helm instead.
Bran likes things structured and predictable. Especially after the mistakes he made ten years ago. But his father’s recent passing threw his calm life into chaos, and now Bran is in charge of the family’s five-star restaurants. He’s been grasping to get things back to status-quo ever since.
He has no idea how much more complicated life will get.
Flame-haired Ireland is exactly the type of beautiful woman Bran has programed himself to avoid. But when she falls into his lap on a booze cruise his brother asked him to cover, the boat isn’t the only thing tossed by the water. Bran’s heart goes overboard as well.
Headstrong Ireland is nothing Bran wants, and everything he needs.

Day 23 of the #rewritebookstachallenge is 'behind the bookstagram'. Hello bookstagram! My name is Mazuba Kapambwe and I am a freelance writer. I have loved books and reading ever since my 2nd grade teacher Mrs Ward read Winnie the Pooh during story time. At home, my dad would read us bedtime stories which he'd supplement with stories from home (Zambia) like the tale of the greedy hyena, and the magic tree. Our bookshelves were full of encyclopedias and old readers digests that I would read. Everytime my dad traveled, he'd bring me books. (He introduced me to Harry Potter even). When I was older, Everytime I did well in school, he'd take me to the bookstore to pick out two books (I have a huge collection of Sabrina the Teenage Witch series). Speaking of Harry Potter, Hermoine is my fave charecter and my shirt from @strandbookstore says everything I feel. I listened to episode 6 of @thereadingwomen podcast which is titled 'Hermoine Granger and the Two Useless Boys' and it highlights examples where Hermoine saved the day (which was a lot of times). Lol

I’m super excited to be participating in the cover reveal for THE STORM CROW by @kalynmjosephson. ✨
This is a new YA fantasy releasing next summer from @sourcebooksfire! (And a special shoutout to the cover illustrator @mynameistran!) Check below for more info, as well as a Q&A from the author – and be sure to add it to your TBR, I sure have and the synopsis of this book has me hooked enough that it’s one of my top anticipated reads for 2019!
ERAGON meets AND I DARKEN in this action-packed YA Fantasy. It follows a fallen princess as she ignites a rebellion to bring back the magical elemental crows that were taken from her people, all while navigating the cold, vicious court of a dangerous enemy prince.
The lovely @kalynmjosephson was nice enough to answer some Q&A questions so make sure you check out the other participants to see what other questions were asked.
Q: Which setting from the book would you visit?
A: There’s a fairytale in the book about a place called the Wandering Wood, which is full of trees of every color, from blue to pink. You can only enter during a full moon, and you have to leave before the sun rises, or you’ll be trapped until the next full moon. But it’s full of mystery and fantastical creatures I’d love to see.
What do you guys think of this cover?

So far I'm really enjoying half term... Now studies have ended and I'm working flat out, I've felt a strong urge to be productive, so stayed up til 4am the last couple of nights. I promised myself a day just to catch up with books though - no teaching, support or education related books! Just reading for pleasure. What are you reading at the moment? I've left a link in the bio to get discounted titles. *Affiliate Link*
Happy half term!!!!
“I apologize for anything I might have done. I was not myself.”
“I apologize for shooting you in the leg.” said Lila. “I was myself entirely.” #VESchwab, #ADarkerShadeofMagic#ShadesofMagicbook1
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I’m late on the V.E Schwab train but I’m all in! ADSOM was so refreshingly unique that it felt like I was discovering Middle Earth or Hogwarts for the first time. The plot was so intricately developed and vividly depicted that I felt like I was in the glowing night market in Red London where I could smell the flowers. I felt the grimness of Gray London and tasted the metallic air in White London. I loved that the characters were so comfortable with their flaws and embraced them. Most of all, I loved the entire take on magic: it doesn’t give, without taking. “Clever magic” •
#grimdragon - blood, sweat and tears: this book has it all, but the whole blood magic theme reeled me in.
#allthebooksoct18 - characters you’d dress up as: “Lila Bard knew in her bones that she was meant to be a pirate.” 🙌🏽 loved that line!
#bookstagrambeware - “the cuckoo clock of doom”: because using a powerful magic stone has an expiration before vitari takes over!
#fallinlovebooksandcoffee - dark roast/ long book
Life will hit you like a rock,
Throw you down and punch with shock.
It will hit and hit and hit.
Until it thinks you want to quit.
But we will take the hits all day,
Because they are not all here to stay.
It is them that make us stronger,
To get back and fight much harder.
If there is one thing that you love,
Grip it tightly with a glove.
And even if tough times appear,
Life will settle them with cheer. Q: What are your favourite type of endings to a book? Sad? Happy? Excited? The ones that make you Cry?And why?
Tbh, books that have ended sad have made the most impact for us. Such an example is “The Book Thief.” It made us think and reflect upon our own lives and the choices we make.
Still in love with that mug and the cat.🐱
Uni is tough. Ok it isnt but I am also still working and that is hard😶😂

No matter how many times our hearts break,
how many nights we stay up late and cry,
how many cuts we make to hurt ourselves,
how much liquor and packs of cigarettes we take,
how long we need to move on from a heartbreak,
how numb we get each time our hearts ache,
how dumb we may be, and get fooled over and over,
how worthless we think we may be, and get replaced to someone better,
and no matter how many times we are forced to get out of someone’s life.
Still, we’ll do it again. We’ll love all over again.
We’ll never get tired of loving. We’ll never get tired from feeling the pain and suffering.
We’ll never get tired of trying and we’ll continue searching for “the one” and our “soulmate,” no matter how long it takes, no matter how painful the journey may be.
Because in the end, we’re just lonely humans; longing and seeking for care and love. Hoping one day, someone could fill the voids in our hearts and make us feel whole. Praying for the day our searching comes to a halt, and finally be with the person who can never make us feel we’re alone.
Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoying the colder weather by staying curled up with a good book and a warm drink!
@alimcjoy mentioned at our last FB Live book club that this month's book is "Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah.
Our Book Club Facebook Live gathering to discuss The Nightingale is THIS THURSDAY OCTOBER 25th at 8:30PM. We hope you can tune in, watch, and comment with your questions and input!! Remember, you don't have to do anything to be a part of this book club - no sitter, no travel, no makeup, heck you can tune in from your bath tub! Even if you haven't had the chance to finish the book, WE GET IT! We are moms too and we still invite you to join!
To get your thoughts going, here are a few questions from The Nightingale discussion guide:
1. “If I have learned anything in this long life of mine, it is this: In love we find out who we want to be; in war we find out who we are.” What do you think the narrator means by this? Is love the ideal and war the reality?
2. Why do you think Kristin Hannah chose to keep the narrator’s identity a secret in the beginning and end of the novel? Were you surprised by who it turned out to be?
3. Have gender roles changed much since World War II? Have women always been strong in the face of adversity, but not recognized for their efforts? Vianne says that “men tell stories...women get on with it.” Do you agree with her?
4. Finally, a show of hands: Who cried --- or at least got a little choked up --- while reading this book? Which scenes moved you the most?
Looking forward to discussing it with THE BEST BOOK CLUB EVER with our wonderful Houston moms community!
