  • Σκεφτείτε το εξής σενάριο: είναι Κυριακή μεσημέρι και περιμένετε καλεσμένους για μεσημεριανό. Αλλά αυτή τη φορά δεν είναι ενοχλητικοί συγγενείς τους οποίους δε μπορείτε να αποφύγετε, αλλά οι αγαπημένοι σας συγγραφείς και καλλιτέχνες!!! Μετά το φαγητό μαζεύεστε στο σαλόνι για επιτραπέζια, καραόκε και συζήτηση μέχρι το πρωί. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Στο δικό μου ιδανικό σενάριο, οι καλεσμένοι μου είναι ο Philip Dick, ο Stephen King, ο Ιούλιος Βερν, ο Frank Herbert, η Ursula le Guin, ο Freddie Mercury, τον Michael Jackson, ο H. P. Lovecraft, ο Nicola Tesla και ο Stephen Hawking. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Εσείς ποιούς αγαπημένους σας (μέχρι 10) καλλιτέχνες και συγγραφείς θα επιλέγετε για να ζήσετε αυτή την εμπειρία;

  • Just booking up my weekend. —— My next few days belong to James Joyce and the last threads of summer sunshine. What's been your favorite read of this summer? Mine was without a doubt Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. It brought my love of language's potential back to life again. (And if you're a writer, I just posted an IGTV video from my talk this week at Westfield Memorial Library— part 2 answers all of the publishing experience questions thrown my way. I hope you enjoy it!)

  • Bringing to you some flower sunshine on this gloomy Monday. Tough Truths: The Ten Happiness Lessons We Don't Talk About by Deirdre Maloney is a cute little book on mindfulness and happiness. I plan to read this as one of my #nonfictionnovember books. Thank you @lorijill321 and @getredpr for my gifted copy🙏🏻 . . SYNOPSIS: Happiness may mean different things to different people, and those different people may go about it differently, but in the end we all want it. Tough Truths is a little book that packs a happiness punch, tackling the topic by giving the straight scoop on how we tend to contribute to it, and get in its way. It also provides specific tips, examples, and even one simple mathematical ratio to help you get to greater happiness. . . Happy Monday friends! May the coffee chugging begin ☕😅😆 . . #toughtruths #makemomentum #happiness #happinesslessons #booktimistic #nonfiction #booksandflowers #readreadread

  • So I just end this novel just now and was so desperate to do its review with u guys . The Forty Rules of Love is a novel I love the most because Shams rules of love of the religion are mine rules too . So here comes the review. “ This book tells as two tales one of Shams and Rumi and the other of Ella and Aziz . You will find your self at two different places all at a time 13th and the present 21st century . Ella Rubinstein’s a married woman and a mother of there was given a job to write a report on a historical , mystic novel “Sweet Blasphemy” and from there it all started . Ella falling helplessly for the mysterious author of the book Aziz . And the marvelous tale of Shams and Rumi . And the forty rules . I found many people asking me who were Shams and Rumi actually. So I thought of giving their history too . Rumi was a known Muslim scholar of the 13th century liveing in konya and Shams was his beloved companion and “ The Forty Rules Of Love “ is a story of the bound they share together. “ Love is the water of life . And a lover is a soul of fire ! “The universe turns differently when fire loves water .” #review #bookreview #bookreviewer #thefortyrulesoflove #bookreviewblog #reader #readersofinstagram #readerslife #readerscommunity #booklovers #bookworms #passionatereader #novels #stories #storiesuntold #plot #twist #love #friendship #sepration #follow #likeforlikes #comment

“Hala birlikte misiniz?” diye sordu Raphael, nezakat gereği. “Onu öldürttüm; bir başmelek asla insan olamaz.” Lijuan’ın suratı değişti, bu dünyadan uzaklaştı, meleksi hatları küçüldü, kemiklerinin üstündeki kağıt inceliğindeki derisi içeriden parladı. “Bazı insanlar vardır, belki trilyonda bir bizi olduğumuzdan başka bir varlığa dönüştürür. Bariyerler kalkar, ateşler çakar ve zihinler birbirine karışır.” Raphael’in gıkı çıkmıyordu.

  • WE'RE GOING TO NEED MORE WINE - GABRIELLE UNION “A book of essays as raw and honest as anyone has ever produced.” — Lena Dunham, Lenny Letter In the spirit of Amy Poehler’s Yes Please, Lena Dunham’s Not That Kind of Girl, and Roxane Gay's Bad Feminist, a powerful collection of essays about gender, sexuality, race, beauty, Hollywood, and what it means to be a modern woman. One month before the release of the highly anticipated film The Birth of a Nation, actress Gabrielle Union shook the world with a vulnerable and impassioned editorial in which she urged our society to have compassion for victims of sexual violence. In the wake of rape allegations made against director and actor Nate Parker, Union—a forty-four-year-old actress who launched her career with roles in iconic ’90s movies—instantly became the insightful, outspoken actress that Hollywood has been desperately awaiting. With honesty and heartbreaking wisdom, she revealed her own trauma as a victim of sexual assault: "It is for you that I am speaking. This is real. We are real." In this moving collection of thought provoking essays infused with her unique wisdom and deep humor, Union uses that same fearlessness to tell astonishingly personal and true stories about power, color, gender, feminism, and fame. Union tackles a range of experiences, including bullying, beauty standards, and competition between women in Hollywood, growing up in white California suburbia and then spending summers with her black relatives in Nebraska, coping with crushes, puberty, and the divorce of her parents. Genuine and perceptive, Union bravely lays herself bare, uncovering a complex and courageous life of self-doubt and self-discovery with incredible poise and brutal honesty. Throughout, she compels us to be ethical and empathetic, and reminds us of the importance of confidence, self-awareness, and the power of sharing truth, laughter, and support. #ebooks #ebooksforsale #bookreview #bookaholic #bookstagram #bookworm #reader #readerslife #readersofig #ilovebooks #africareads #ugandareads #love4books #loveforbooks #instagood #openpagesug

  • [Unbezahlte Werbung] Yaaay! #fannybechert #elesztrah #sternensandverlag #coveropfer #readerslife #readersofinstagram #buchblogger #buchliebe #buchliebhaber #book #bookobsessed #bookish #bookworm #booklover #bookstagrammer #buch #bibliophile

#christianerochefort #rochefort #frühlingfüranfänger #printempsauparking #lgbtq #queer #book #books #bookstagram #igbooks #instabooks #igread #igreads #instaread #readerslife #fiction #reality #life #revolution #frenchliterature #literature

  • I was tagged in the #bookishcitytag by @mostlyfantasybooks so I thought I'd give it a try. Also, I had to share my weekend book haul, it was a good one. : ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Name five places you want to visit based on books you've read: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Hogwarts, obviously from Harry Potter (whichever city it is technically in). I would like to just go back and forth between feasts in the Great Hall and the Library. Bliss. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Greece (Circe's Island), from Circe. Greece is a place I've always wanted to visit and it's been one of those weeks where living on a deserted island sounds like perfection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Italy, from The Talented Mr. Ripley. (It was set in Mongibello which was not a real place, but any city in Italy would be great for me.) Admittedly the movie and book are entwined in my mind despite having a lot of differences, but I identify with Mr. Ripley's obsession with young Jude Law. And currently day Jude Law. (Heeyyyy there, Dumbledore.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Tar Valon, more specifically The White Tower from the Wheel of Time series. I already have my aes sedai ring, now I just need the saidar to go with it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5. Red/White/Grey London from the ADSOM series. Lila to teach me swordplay and piratry, Rhy to party with, and Kell, well, because he's Kell.

  • I’m officially obsessed with @audible (and @tiffanyhaddish). — First off, audiobooks: This was the first audiobook I ever listened to. It was perfect for those moments when I needed something to listen to (like when I’m putting on my makeup) but I didn’t feel like putting on music or committing to an entire podcast episode. I even listened to a chapter before going to sleep; it helped me wind down without any blue light interference. I am BIG TIME on the audiobook bandwagon now. I’ve been converted. I have seen the light. — On the book: I picked this one because I’ve been loving Tiffany’s interviews and stand-up on YouTube. She’s so real and genuinely funny. I was going to read the print copy but when I saw that she read it herself in the audio form, I loved the idea of hearing her tell her story. I’m glad I listened to it. Her life story is heartbreaking and at times, shocking. I can’t believe some of the stuff she has gone through. She’s a strong, resilient woman. Anything that tried to hold her back (and there was some major shit), she conquered and didn’t let it stop her from pursuing the life she knew she deserved. She absolutely is made of magic. — I came away with an even deeper respect for her as a person. Definitely recommend reading this one. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and it will remind you that YOU are the only one responsible for what your life becomes.
