Day 22 Inktober - Expensive
Let no one remind Della how much her dear scarf costed, because she could regret her decision again. *** Día 22 Inktober - Caro
Que nadie le recuerde a Della cuánto le salió su bufanda querida, porque podría volver a arrepentirse de su decisión. -E
A post from our co-founder, @stephenw.smith honoring the life and work of Eugene Peterson.
“I have been fortunate in my life to have written ten books. I have quoted the work of Eugene Peterson in every one of them. He was an important voice for me and I am honored to be a champion of his work. His death today, marks the passing of all my spiritual heroes. I am only imaging Eugene, Dallas, Henri, John Stott, Ignatius , and a host of others having the feast of their lives and beginning to live in the fullness of all they taught us.
Depart, O Christian soul, out of this world;
In the Name of God the Father Almighty who created you;
In the Name of Jesus Christ who redeemed you.
In the Name of the Holy Spirit who sanctifies you.
May your rest be this day in peace, and your dwelling place in the Paradise of God.” ~ Stephen W. Smith
First firing wooooo hoooo!!! I was so nervous and excited to fire this new to me but very old kiln. My best buddy @heidijoywind kept me company and kept calm while we watched the temperature climb
Now for trouble shooting because the temp stopped climbing 200 degrees before we reached cone 05
Not sure what happened there. It climbed steadily with no pauses or plateaus and then just stated heading back down
I hate not knowing why something is happening. Is it an element is it the thermocouple?
Nothing was ruined though so that's lucky
Now to not screw it all up with glaze 🤣🤣🤣
“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!” Luke 12:27-28
I’ve been thinking about the word “provision” a lot lately. We may use it to refer to unexpected upgrades in our lives, like a check that came in times of financial need etc. We recognize these as God’s provision, but we rarely depend on it. When we say God is our provider (Jehovah Jireh), it’s not in the context of snacks or cars or money or bills. It’s in the context of the most profound physical/spiritual need a person can face – the loss and the gift of life. Jesus shows one end of the spectrum of God’s provision. God sent his son as a sacrifice to rescue us from our sin, which is the answer to every person’s deepest question and the fulfillment of their deepest needs. The same God, yet, He cares for the smallest and even the inanimate in his creation. I can be certain that His character is true. We can see it in the flowers and birds. And we can see it at the cross – Jesus is His great provision. .
