This week, I painted a dog portrait commission for a long time client. Last year, I painted his family, and his son asked him this year for a portrait of their dog Leo as his Christmas gift.
At a certain point, I almost gave up on it, because it really is challenging to work from a photo that is low-resolution. I actually went back and experimented with this portrait with quite a bit of different kinds of materials.
In the end, I'm so glad I stuck with it.
