Tonight, we spent a collective total of $500 on tapas, failed at an escape room (because #math) and laughed a lot. At one point during dinner, I just stopped to enjoy everything, because these folks are so incredible and our trips to #pdx are ending too soon. #gradschoolround2#phdyear2
Was explaining my 10 pounds-per-year methodology to a co-worker the other day and he asked a pretty funny question... "So... What is the end goal? Are you just going to keep going and be 250lbs at 40?? 400lbs at 55?" Neither of those things are going to happen, I can tell you that. But... The truth is I don't have a # that I'm aiming for. I don't even know exactly what physique I'd like to see myself have years from now. Why? Because the body isn't the prize. My prize comes in the form of a life as a whole that I can see in my head, but is still not within my grasp. I know that I have to keep stacking my chips... those chips are NOT muscle, they are discipline, patience, work ethic, continually learning and so many other important psychological strengths. Is it cool that I gain muscle as a side effect of sharpening those things? Of course. But that's not my motivation, more muscle won't make me a better future husband/father, brother, uncle, more successful in my career, or really do much of anything actually important in life.
You don't need to validate your life's plan to anyone. It just needs to make sense to you. If you can see the lines, how it all eventually connects and comes together, turn your faith up to 11/10, keep working day in and day out, and fall in love with the process.

Another set of twins, little modest worker cottages. Both with gable roofs, full front porches and offset entry. I assume they have a mirror image floor plan of each other.
