Kalgoorlie in a pot! This lovely bowl really does capture the essence of outback Australia. It has all of the elements that I recall from our many trips to Kalgoorlie as a kid, to visit my Aunty Joan, Uncle John and my cousins, Sharon and David. Those were the days, tripping along the streets, the red dust wafting beneath our feet and covering us in this fine layer of oxide that was impossible to remove from our rubber thongs and our clothes! Rummaging around their backyard and playing on that red earth, trying to poke
Pomegranates from the tree, happy memories there! The outside of this pot, shows a very orange glaze, whilst the inside, which is actually the exact same glaze, is a more subtle yellow/orange; all of this from the red iron oxide in the glaze. I am also enjoying the volcanic glaze section which sits above the orange, like a
rolling cloud on the dusty horizon. This pot is fired in an electric kiln, full oxidation, multiple glazes and high fired to tip cone 11. .
Out trying to photograph birds (tiny wrens) when the sun filtered through the canopy in just the right place for just a few minutes. Turns out 150mm was just right for perspective (and because I couldn't get any closer).

You: Wanna go to yoga?
Me: I'm down, dog.
P.S.For those who messaged to see if rain fell in our district over the weekend, the answer is unfortunately no. It was all east of us.
MONDAY, nothing that a bit of yoga can't fix.
Chloe is wearing Burrmint leggings (a unique print created by us) and our supportive white hidden pocket crop top.
Throwbacks on a Friday, is that even allowed. Days spent exploring the Daintree: me being Nigel Thornberry just not as smart and minus the moustache.
