📍 Belum, Perak, Malaysia.
We went on a night jungle trekking the first night we arrived at @BelumRainforestResort but it was dark & drizzling so I have no good photos of the insects (which includes pinkie-size ants!) & other animals that we saw. The next morning, we took a boat ride followed by a short drive to a somewhat remote location where each of us planted a gaharu tree to help with the forest conservation as well as help create a job & income for the local orang asli (aborigines) community. These trees are expected to start producing oud (expensive aromatic wood), a main ingredient of perfumes, in 7-8 years. I should probably plant a few of these money-making trees at home too but apparently they only grow in places like Belum. *sigh*
Anyways, the kids in the group found this huuuuge millipede (err... it's a millipede, right? 😅) near the place, got curious and played with it. The adults? We (read: me, heh heh!) stayed at least 1 meter away from it, hahaha! 😝
Oh by the way, this was also where the first pacat (leech) had a feast with my blood despite me wearing a pair of football socks. I guess that little sucker just found the best food bank in their version of Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan. Nasib baik I tough! 💪

While wandering the streets of Bhaktapur, it’s been a soul-satisfying privilege to meet many kind people, share a few postcards of Seattle, and create portraits. This woman was at a gathering in a Hindu temple.

Fern Canyon is a 15 metre high vertical walled creek with such amazing growth... hard to figure out how it gets it’s name 🤔 🌱 😂
