🦜 KEA PARROT 🦜 - Fiordland National Park, Southland, New Zealand. 🇳🇿⠀
[🇲🇫 FRANÇAIS CI-DESSOUS]⠀
- 🇬🇧 The sleeping beauty? 🤔. No, just a Kea parrot that's having a nap 😅. ⠀
🚬 He always tries to chew everything (so please don't throw your cigarette butts or papers, he will try to eat them, I have seen it with my own eyes! 😟).⠀
The thing is, where we can see them in the Milford Sound, there are many tour buses full of people that stop there and a lot of those people have no respect for nature and wildlife..⠀
Once, I have even seen an asian person from one of the tours, trying to kick a kea bird for whatever what reason 😡 so with Sam we tried to explain to him not to do that, that it wasn't right etc but the guy was just laughing and couldn't understand anything anyway 😒😡.
☞ QUESTION OF THE DAY: What is your favorite bird❓⠀
- 🇲🇫 La belle au bois dormant? (ou plutôt le beau..? 🤔).
☞ QUESTION DU JOUR: Quel est votre oiseau préféré❓⠀

Putting the camera away here in Oregon has been good for the sanity, but it means digging through the New Zealand archives.
This shot was from our Marlborough drive and is my new desktop:) it felt so Jurassic to me!

The ever-moody Milford Sound... Every time I come here I feel like I’ve transported to another world 🌎💫
Monkeying around at Monkey Creek on our way to JUCY cruise Milford Sound! Monkey Creek is a glacier-fed spring with water so pure you can drink it straight from the source, and WE DID! It was some of the tastiest water I've tried 🚰⠀

Mirror, mirror on the lake... Yet another stop on your way to JUCY cruise Milford Sound was the stunning Mirror lakes! Pro tip they are not actually lakes they are ponds.

This place is called The Chasm! It's another fun stop on our way to JUCY Cruise Milford Sound. Thousands of years of swirling water have sculpted shapes and basins into the rock giving you this amazing natural marvel!

Got the wind in my hair and the rain on my face! It pretty much rained non-stop while I was in Queenstown but that didn't stop me from loving every minute!

I'd like to take credit for this rock pile, but sadly I could only get mine about 5 rocks high before it fell over 😂

Earnslaw Burn was definitely a BIG highlight of the NZ trip, having never been in a helicopter before that was an awesome experience in itself! But arriving in Earnslaw Burn and having this magnificent place all to ourselves was truly life changing. I saw this place on the TV show Travel Guides Australia and I'm sooo glad that I made the effort to come here.

Add this place to your bucket list friends! I will go back any chance I get, there's just something about having solitude in a place like this. It heightens the senses, you can see every tiny glacial waterfall and listen to the avalanches and it just reminds you how small you are in this big world!
