Ok... so it’s been a week since I’ve touched my #31daysofpainting canvas... the main reason seems to be that I’m just not feeling connected to the big canvas I branched out to try during this challenge. I like the idea of painting on a big canvas, but I still haven’t found a great spot to paint on it, and not having a good place to paint makes it really hard to find my groove.
But the more I thought about it, I didn’t just want to *not* do #31daysofpainting anymore....
So I’m starting over. Today is day one.
I may no longer be part of the official group, but I’m doing this for me, because I still love this process, even if I am starting over halfway through the month!
So here is my brand new canvas... a smaller one I had on hand, and I used a paint pen for my words of intention.
I’ll be finishing my own 31 days on November 16, after everyone else has already finished... but that’s ok. I still want to participate, for me, and I’ll take it one day at a time.
I’m going to put away my big canvas for now. I know I’ll come back to it again... maybe in a few months I’ll have the perfect place to paint big.... until then, I’m ok with the learning experience I found in trying. And here’s to trying again, to starting over, to choosing to take things one day at a time....
The Dog Is Real
I just finished this painting when @charltonmcmillan came bursting into the house from his neighborhood walk with Bixby. I called up to them a cheery “hi guys” but sensed right away something was wrong. Charlton was out of breath and Bixby was panting. Turns out that Bixby got attacked by the fierce dog behind a fence who today wasn’t behind the fence. He lounged at Bixby, pulling him and Charlton across the street—all three of them plus the dog’s terrified owner ended up on the ground and Charlton had to flip the dog to free Bixby. Bixby got a nasty puncture wound above his left eye. He’s on his way to the emergency care animal hospital now.
sneak peak of the very beginnings of new painting- Scorpio - .....sadly i got very stuck with Taurus (sorry Taurean friends) and for the first time ever, i had to put that painting to the side and get on with something else. Hoping to get back to Taurus at some point when the inspiration and creative flow comes back that way.....in the meantime, hoping to finish Scorpio sometime in November :) <3
While creating this artwork I was inspired by amazing Californian Sunsets.

Making #myart more affordable for the stall, with some mini canvases, all done in #acrylics for the faster drying time, 😆. What's that? Did you forget I also paint!? Tbh I'm getting a little squinty 👀 after being at this all day, so I'm a call it a night before I F' these up😂 - & hopefully finish these tomorrow. Would love to know what y'all think in the meantime?
