Today was the longest I have ran in weeks, and it felt amazing. Cool morning with rain is my jam, I’ll take that weather any day for running. It was refreshing and cleansing for my body and mind.
45 minutes easy @ 9:18/mile
30 minutes, 2:00 on @ 7:00-6:40/mile, 1:00 float at 8:00/mile
2 mile cool down @ 9:18/mile
My average for the 2:00 reps was 7:00/mile, and 7:57/mile for the 1:00 float....so I was right on the money. Some reps were good, so a tad off, and that’s okay. Ending the week with 49.9 Miles...all things considered I’ll take it!

My first triathlon! It was a tough one - Hever Castle Olympic distance (1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run) through relentless rain and bitterly cold winds. By some miracle, my winged eyeliner and eyebrows survived the whole ordeal, and so did I!
Swim: • Didn’t get kicked in the face
• Got into a comfortable rhythm and actually had a really good swim • Water temperature was 15.8° and yet it was the warmest I felt all day 😢
• Lots of hills, lots of cars
• I don’t know how to fix a puncture so Tim cycled alongside me the whole way in case I needed help - he’s a keeper!
• Tough Mudder without the electric shocks • I inevitably fell over in the mud • Should have worn trail shoes
I enjoyed the race in a masochistic sort of way. When the weather’s warmer, I am definitely signing up for more triathlons! ☀️ Thank you to all the volunteers at @castletriathlonseries who braved the elements to keep our spirits up!
A beautiful fall afternoon for a 5 mile run. A little too warm for my taste, but it was nice to see the sun!
So I set out to do an easy pace. About a mile in, I noticed an older gentleman, probably in his 80’s, riding his bike down the road. He was wearing a neon yellow jacket, so he was pretty easy to spot. I ran behind him and after a while I witnessed a huge German shepherd leap into the road, hit the guy’s side, and send him flying off his bike. I broke into a sprint to catch up. The dog ran all over the place, chasing me as well.
The poor old guy was bleeding and his sunglasses were broken. I left after the owners of the dog came out and were helping the guy, but after all that happened, my adrenaline had really kicked in and I found myself running faster than I meant to! Poor guy.
Other than that, it was an enjoyable run!

Because I could use a little therapy at this point. 🤪
T decided it would be great to spend the day at the instacare and ER with a broken hand yesterday. When we finally did make it home we discovered that our fridge had tripped the breaker and been off for days so all the food was spoiled and a few of our floorboards are warped from where our ice maker dripped.
Beyond that, we are so so grateful to be back in our home and are looking at this experience as a fresh start.
On a side note, marathon training started today- a week later than expected due to evacuation and smoke conditions. Today’s run felt good and B ran the last mile with me. #dayone#runhouston#marathontraining

Strength Sunday is baaaaack!! Sorry about that hiatus. Just gotta take a break sometimes, am I right?
Anyway, back to the hustle! Here’s a variation on the 3,5,6 o clock tap outs. Level up your game with the addition of weights!
The closer you hold them to your body, the easier it will be. The further away, the more difficult. It’s a full body workout, so be sure not to sacrifice form. Make sure you can do it well without weights first, and start small!
Really great glute building exercise that also gets the quads completely burning- can you feel those running muscles strengthening yet? 😉 enjoy!-
Ps don’t mind my socks 🤦♀️
Long run got moved to Sunday this week. Fortunately the weather was really nice this morning. Since there has been so much flooding this week I saw a couple crayfish on the sidewalk in the park near the lake 😮 (also need to figure out how to get less blurry pictures)

Another year at @thehealingcycle done and dusted and we didn't even get lost this time! Thanks to everyone who sponsored me. You helped me raise over $1100 for the Carpenter Hospice 💕
Over the moon 🤸🏻♂️🤸🏻♂️🤸🏻♂️
I came 3rd in my age category & because the race was a county championship race I won a bronze county medal 🥉 So chuffed!!! -
I’m guessing the disgusting rain and wind & boy was it nasty! 💦💨had all the speedy peeps turn over this morning to give this snail a chance 😜🐢😴
This was also the weirdest start I have ever been to!! There was no countdown or any kind of start, I don’t even think I was facing the right way! Hence why I was still running in my waterproof mac for the first few miles 😂 ▶️📸
Can’t wait to catch up with you all now & then it’s the last episode of Bodyguard 📺👏
Thanks to @boobrellacartlidge for the race pics.

Sunday Long Run!
Today's 16 miles were made possible by this awesome fall weather! I think the wildlife in AA also agreed, since I saw a snake at mile 6, deer at mile 9, and a stray Kitty at mile 15. But I also ran into @r1coor2 at mile 14! All in all a good run.
Also, shout out to @procompression these marathon socks are the truth! Definitely rocking these for the @freepmarathon !

Week after marathon. Prior my preparation I was impressed by all the finishers how they body can manage the day. Later I realized it‘s not about the race day. Marathon is a journey. Months where running is your highest priority. You plan your weeks and days around all the runs you need to complete. I ended up running almost 200km in August. Crazy! Family, friends, work, other hobbies need to wait. It‘s not easy. You need to habe lots of support around you in order to manage it. Not to forget, your mind is as important (if not more) as the legs. I could‘ve gone faster. But I knew one only have 1 chance to run their 1st marathon. I wanted it to be a great one, without pain. I never asked myself (through the race) why am I doing this. I knew. It was the payback for all the hours spent on training. Thank you Berlin. Thank you everybody for being there for me and understood. Sport is awesome! #adidaswomen
Marathon number six was spent racing around the base of the stunning Table Mountain, fighting off the cramp for a new PB #thisladruns

Sometimes procrastinating is not a bad thing, at least I didn't have to run in the rain 🤷🏻♀️ It was hard, painful and I didn't enjoy it. Frankly I feel like I have been run over 😂 but I didnt quit even though I really really wanted to💪🏼tomorrow is another day💯💥 #marathontraining#marathoner#womensrunning#dontgiveup

Sometimes when 12 weeks deep into #marathontraining some runs can start to feel like a chore. But not today! .
Due to my favorite running weather and excellent company this cutback week long run of 11 miles was everything I love about running. And I surprised myself with how strong I felt running up all the hills and finally crushed the long steep Clark Road hill (swipe 👉🏼) that I’ve previously had to walk partway up .
Added another @runsmartofficial kettlebell session to finish this cutback week with 40 miles running and 3 strength sessions as I prepare for another 60+ miles for week 13 of 18 😬
Anybody else running Akron on Saturday? I’m running the Half with 7 early miles before the start so I can get 20 total and still enjoy the stadium afterparty. Let me know if you’ll be there so I can look out for you .
BOOM! Found some serious mojo today!
Had a quiet day so drove somewhere I’d never been to run a canal path. Managed my second 20 miler of the week and put in 4 miles at marathon pace (6:17 per mile), so I’m pretty pumped about how it’s all going at the moment.
Very tired at the moment; back-to-back 80 mile weeks takes its toll, but the improvements are showing themselves.
6 MILES. Took the pup out for a slow recovery jog today. Had eight on the agenda, but I’m pretty ridiculously sore, so I figured I’d cut it short and spend the extra time on recovery. This weekend went by way too quickly! 😭
