Map of Research Stations in Antarctica.
The white points representes the stations. This map is made up of a relief map of Antarctica.
A number of governments maintain permanent research stations in Antarctica and these bases are widely distributed. Unlike the drifting ice stations set up in the Arctic, the research stations of the Antarctic are constructed either on rock or on ice that is (for practical purposes) fixed in place.
Many of the stations are staffed around the year. A total of 40 countries (as of October 2006), all signatories to the Antarctic Treaty, operate seasonal (summer) and year-round research stations on the continent. The population of people performing and supporting scientific research on the continent and nearby islands varies from approximately 4,000 during the summer season to 1,000 during winter (June). In addition to these permanent stations, approximately 30 field camps are established each summer to support specific projects".

Tyypillinen aamuhetki hotellin pihalla.
We are nearly there! Only 37 days left before we embark on our around the world trip. We are approaching D-day with a mix of excitement, apprehension and sheer pinch-me-is-this-real shock that it looks like we are actually going to pull this off! Leaving drinks are booked handovers at work in full swing and school is already out for summer. Still feels like a small mountain to climb before takeoff but trying to keep everything in perspective this morning, looking at this picture I took from the venue we hired for Grace’s Birthday this weekend.... and thinking how lucky we are to be able to do this! Thanks for following guys World here we come!!! #rtw#map#worldmap#wallart#family#familytrip#familytravel#travel#wonderlust#leavingonajetplane#kids#parenting#instatravel#pictureoftheday#explore

Nobody has ever missed Theatre Liceu on their visit to Barcelona! Why? Because it is located on the Ramblas, the number one tourist street. A good question would be if visitors actually realize passing the Theatre. There's plenty of reason to do so!
Catalans built this theatre in 1847 and have managed to pull it through misery ever since, with the 1994 fire as the most recent wound. Thanks to them, the theatre remained the place were the voices of great opera singers could be heard, like Feodor Chaliapin, Plácido Domingo, Montserrat Caballé and José Carreras.
Enrich your stay in Barcelona with an opera or ballet performance in this majestic theatre (without royal box!) www.streetwise.world (link in bio👆)
