Our first dinner in the kitchen 💛
We are still waiting on our table and need one more light installed but we can eat in here now!! No more eating on the floor or the couch 😂
The funny thing is when Bart and I started dating he didn't sit at a kitchen table. He sat in his computer room or living room and his mom and brother ate else were in the house. Over the last 8.5 years I got him so use to eating at the table not eating at a table was driving him nuts! ...
So it was a nice surprise for him when he walked in to have dinner ready to eat at a table. I even made it festive with some pumpkin decorations and a candle, oh and of course a glass of wine.
Here's to many more dinners at the dinner table together ... Cheers 😘
@haydenandsara narrowly missed out on hitting the top spot with their @theblock kitchen but they definitely meant business👌Their design boasts a spacious entertainer’s kitchen with a creative edge from use of Supa Black, Burnished Wood and Alaskan White Gloss cabinetry. Elegance and sophistication completes the look with their @caesarstonAU Statuario Nuvo benchtop and splashback, which also picks up the colour scheme of the entire apartment 😍 #kitcheninspo

Trying to find little ways to make our life easier at the moment as we find our new rhythm. One of those ways is having some @youfoodz meals ready to go in the fridge. Ollie the sous-chef helped hack the salad with extra greens & creamy avocado... until Little Miss got FOMO & took over! (See our video a few posts back for the Isla takeover)🙈. Loving the new @youfoodz Spring Menu 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 so fresh & tasty! If you haven’t tried @youfoodz yet use the code SPRING20 to save 20% off you first order. 👌🏻Emmy Xx #YoufoodzPartner#ad#youfoodz

My husband and I are *maybe* buying a little house to fix up and sell, and the kitchen needs some love. I don’t think we’d be able to do a hood, but I love the ideas here: warm wood tones, terracotta tiles, roomy islands, moody paint colors, cabinets that go alll the way to the ceiling, open shelving.... etc etc etc.
I need your input! Do you like terracotta or more muted greyish floors? Do you like colored cabinets or all white? Open shelving or no?
Now that we have some friends following along, I’m excited to share our first ever project. The day we closed on the house it was my mission to get rid of this backsplash immediately. No joke, we wasted no time at all and started hacking away at it on day 1 with a tiny toddler in tow. I knew the cabinets would take some time to change to white, and granite would be several months away, but something about pulling out he old man bathtub tile from my kitchen was just so refreshing. 😂 Can’t wait to share it’s current state once our curtains are hung. #transformation#kitchenreno#scarybacksplash#paintedcabinets#demoday#hayshomereno

Last weekend, during my nesting craze, David and I cleared out the cabinet under the kitchen sink only to find...a leak we didn’t know about...and mold. Yikes! We then quickly realized that water had (unknowingly) seeped under our floor boards. Double yikes! •
After a call to our insurance company, some tears shed by me, and some very efficient contractors, here we are: a kitchen renovation while I’m nine months pregnant. No big deal, right? 😂 We’re staying positive though, knowing that there are worse things in life, grateful we caught the issue, and even more grateful that we have loving family who have been so supportive of us during this time. •
[note: that lovely laminate flooring is what was UNDER the beautiful dark wood floors we lovingly installed three years ago.] •
