ACCESSORIES I ADORE! I carefully curated the housecandy on the back shelves pictured here. I arranged the books by color and size, altering the horizontal and vertical placement. The light-colored background of the shelves really makes it all pop!

@breeleech did her magic again for the new @duluxaus colour forecast!
We have our delicate white hand sculpture "Let me give you...a flower" by the artist @iva.viana_sculpture featured in this stunning vignette.
Legacy is one of the 4 themes for the 2019 Dulux Colour Forecast... and it's all about valuing "the timeless and elegant over the new and disposable" - and we could agree more!! "Looking to learn from traditional crafts and techniques, Legacy takes iconic forms and elegant looks and marries them with modern statements of style. It calls up history’s most cherished classics and icons and adapts them to fit a new, modern vision." Thank you @breeleech for the incredible styling

Revisiting some of my older Autumn themed pieces today, as the temps finally are dipping into Fall like digits. • “How Bittersweet the Bread and Wine” has since found a new home, but I have fond memories of how this painting came to be. • I had wanted to do a large canvas (36x48) with several elements found at that time of year. I chose grape vines, bittersweet, and feather grasses ( mostly because I thought the colors combinations would work well. • The problem was that the feather grass didn’t want to be feather grass. Everyone who saw the WIP kept commenting about how they liked the wheat. I tried everything to change it into feather grass and it just kept getting “wheatier ” 😂. • In the months prior I had been working on several paintings with a communion theme. Maybe it was something subconscious, that had made me paint wheat. The thought occurred to me that the grapes and the wheat were basically the bread and wine of the communion elements. The painting took on whole new meaning for me. • And there was this whole other element of bittersweet twisting and turning around everything else in the painting. I love bittersweet, for many reasons. I adore the bright orange /red combined with the caramel color of the seed pods. And I have often thought of droplets of blood when I look at this beautiful plant. As a Christian, this always has made me see it as a symbol for Jesus. And of course, to me the name “bittersweet” further extended that symbolism- Christ’s blood shed, is bitter, in what He had to go through, yet sweet in that He went through it to ransom a wayward people. • the painting ended up being the centerpiece for the communion series I had slowly been putting together, from that point forward, adding bittersweet to all the paintings in the series and calling the series itself “How Bittersweet the Bread and Wine”
Wood & Charity Shop find || I thought I’d combine both of these themes for this pic as it covers both quite nicely. *
I found 2 of these chairs in a charity shop near home and loved them immediately. They’re beautifully crafted, solid and have gorgeous detailing. Love love love, especially against this floor! ______________________________________________________________
Shining Bright || This light fixture works so well in this space as it spreads the light throughout the whole room and I love the look in the process ✨ ______________________________________________________________
