Always find a reason to laugh. It may not add years to your life but will surely add life to your years.
Even the worst days only lasts 24 hours, and this past month has taught me how important it is to always find a reason to laugh, smile and to find happiness.
Happiness is a choice. The more we remember that life is a gift—that everything changes, we're not in control—the stronger our sense of well-being becomes. Disasters happen in life but happiness can withstand all that if we chose. Some days will be harder than others but with a positive mindset, wisdom and gratitude - it is possible.
On a brighter note, my page needed a little brightening up, so here’s a throwback to my happy beach life in August. I think another beach vacation is needed very soon.
At its best, travel should challenge our preconceptions and most cherished views, cause us to rethink our assumptions, shake us a bit, make us broader minded and more understanding. - Arthur Frommer

Live For Today A Little
Tomorrow is not guaranteed. We know nothing about the curveballs that lay before us. For example 👇
This time last year I was in Thailand 🌴👇
Today I live in a new town, new house, new job, new beau and.. essentially.. a new me!
My life shifted when my thoughts did.
I started asking myself, if today was my last day on Earth would I still be doing this same shit?
I wouldnt be obsessing over fitness. Struggling to make an unhealthy relationship work. Pressuring myself to achieve more. Missing out on great memories.
If today was my last day..
I'd. Eat. The. Goddam. Cookie. 🍪
So whatever it is you're passionate about: do it. Take some chances. We stop because we are afraid; we think we can mitigate risks and stay safe.
But there is no safety. I could get hit by lightning as I'm typing this⚡
But I didn't.
So I'm gonna live the hell outta this day. I'll make the most of it. And I'll stop obsessing over shit that really, truly does not matter.
No one is gonna be talking about our bikini bods or even our careers at our funerals.
They'll be talking about the memories we shared. The laughs. The quality time. The connection we shared.
That is what matters most.
When we pass up a moment, we lose it forever. Seize it. Truly seize it.
Because we will never know how many moments we have left, my loves.
Ever heard the saying “never put the keys to your happiness in someone else’s pocket.” It’s one of those quotes to live by. Happiness truly is an inside job!
The realisation that no one else was responsible for my happiness was a powerful one indeed. This happened quite a few years ago now but the impact of that concept has never left me. Now as a parent I find myself telling my kids on a regular basis (now that they are a little bit older) that ‘happiness comes from within’ in a hope that one day, possibly when they are all grown up, it will all make sense, and they will remember my words when they need it most. And they too will find their own sense of freedom and empowerment, when faced with life’s challenges ✊ but for now, as they near their teenage years, I’m happy to settle for the eye rolls and attitude when I say it. Even though it looks like they aren’t listening, I know its being heard ❤️
Happiness is an internal job. We spend our whole lives wanting more, forgetting that what we have is another person’s dream. The present is all we have, and life’s obstacles teach us to be grateful for what we have and be patient ✨
CARDIO OR WEIGHTS: WHAT DO I DO TO LOSE WEIGHT?!?
Let me just start by saying: if someone is preaching to do EXCLUSIVELY one or the other because the second is “bad”, they’re a dumbass 🤦♀️
You search online and it’s always something new: DO WEIGHTS!! NO DO CARDIO!!! WAIT NO DO WEIGHTS!!! BUT NO DO CARDIO!!! How the heck are you supposed to know what to do??
here’s the real deal...
You can overdo cardio. You can overdo weights. You can overdo eating healthy. You can overdo literally anything. So of course too much heavy lifting or too much cardio isn’t good for you and you shouldn’t just do one
Instead, do a little bit of both!🔥
what makes you FEEL the best? Is it more cardio based training (boxing, hiking, cycling) or more resistance training (lifting weights)? Whatever that answer is DO MORE OF THAT 🤷♀️
But definitely try to incorporate both to some extent every week. You want to be toned, you want to be healthy, you want to be strong, you want the clothes to fit you, you want to feel energized...
A perfect little mix of the two consistently will get you to those goals of yours 💪🏻
I know how confusing Instagram and everything can be with people preaching DO THIS NOT THAT. But at the end of the day, do what brings you the most joy. Train hard that way. And watch the magic happen 🙏🔥
What’s your FAVORITE way to train: cardio 🏃♀️ or weights🏋️♀️? Let me know below ⬇️
Self care and work balance continues! After doing some work on my website, and feeling super smart after my first foray into WordPress, I treated myself to a CBD massage @saffronandsageus. Had a lovely chat with all the staff and met their resident therapy dog who sensed I needed some doggie love and hung out by my side for lots of pets! 💗🐶 heading “home” to get some more work done, then watch the sunset... countdown is on for my husband, son and dogs’ arrival tomorrow!
