MEAT IS SO LAST CENTURY!
So there's a lot I haven't shared with you guys... While travelling, I actually had my backpack stolen - I don't think I'd ever had anything stolen from me before, I guess I've just been incredibly lucky. Luckily I still had my handbag on me with my phone, passport and wallet but that's about it, I lost everything else.
It was actually like a "light bulb moment" for me. I was calm because it was not my fault (I did the best I could to protect my possessions), I was safe and had not been hurt, and there was nothing I could've done or could do to retrieve my bag (except of course file a police report). I admit, I was frustrated at first but upon reflection, this was an act of desperation. People don't steal when they don't need to. These people hadn't been blessed with the circumstances I have been, and they obviously needed my things more than I did.
I believe everything happens or a reason (as corny as that sounds) and everything has a funny way of working itself out. It was incredibly refreshing to not have anything, actually it was better than that because I had a phone, all my money and my passport to keep travelling! So I bought all the things I needed for second hand shops and sustainable/eco-friendly stores and here I am today. I have half the amount of things I used to have but I'm happy and have a new perspective on how little my material possessions actually mean to me. I thought I was was a minimalist before but I didn't even know what that meant! 😂
Anyway, unfortunately I lost my camera and laptop and that's why I haven't made any YouTube videos lately. I was actually editing 3 new videos when my computer was stolen 😒 but that's life. So I'm starting fresh, I want to get back into making videos and I would like to know what you guys would like to see from me!
SEND ME ALL YOUR REQUESTS!
I've had a few of you ask for more beauty/grwm videos, while others want to see travel vlogs, what I eat in a day or chatting videos about my lupus/healing foods/veganism... So where do I start? 🤷🏻♀️

We are always told as vegan activists blame and shame is not the way to effective awareness but sometimes the truth needs to be told .
Regrann from @domzthompson - I see so many people pointing fingers and blaming the farmers for the 3.4 million plus lives lost earlier this week, due to hurricane Florence. Not to exclude them from the bigger problem but I want you all to consider this: out of the 3.4 million farmed animals we lost this week, over 800 million farmed animals in the state of North Carolina are still alive and will eventually face the kill floor of a slaughter house, and will be packaged for sale to consumers. You read that correctly. 800 million plus are still alive. Think about that. Think critically about that for a moment. 3.4 million was nowhere near the amount of farmed animals currently occupying the state of North Carolina. Now multiply the 800 million plus farmed animals aforementioned by the number of farmed animals in the billions currently occupying farms across the globe. Yeah, billions upon billions. In summary, the people that truly deserve the blame for what happened in North Carolina this past week and for what happens to the 50-70 billion farmed animals slaughtered yearly is us, the consumers. Because bacon, right? #GoVegan - #veggie#vegan#newvegan#teachcompassion#awareness#healthyliving#healthyeating#dotherightthing#bekind#awakening#bewoke

Big part of why antibiotic-resistant bacteria are getting more common, is the meat we eat. Livestock are constantly fed antibiotics, so that animals don't die too soon and so that the flesh is "safe" for humans to consume. When we eat the flesh we are constantly getting a good dosage of those same antibiotics that the livestock was fed and a good dosage of the antibiotic-resistant bacteria that came from the animals . Constant eating of antibiotics enables the bacteria to mutate and change it's form, so the same antibiotics that used to heal us, now won't work anymore. Think about how is going to be in the future when you won't be able to take your medicine and trust that you will get better? Scary isn't it?
So why is livestock being fed these antibiotics, if it's known to be bad for us? The animals live in crowded, poor conditions and are constantly suffering from stress and illnesses. All the elements that support good health and immunity are missing.Imagine how much suffering they must endure. Many animals have open wounds, missing body parts and boils that are festered of bacteria. Antibiotics are being fed to prevent and somewhat treat the infections so the animals survive long enough to be slaughtered. Those same sick animals end up in our plate and in our stomach.
Why are the animals not kept in better conditions to prevent this all? Well the better the conditions, the more money it takes. The more money it takes, the less money it is for the industry. So it's money above animals and even humans lives. Animals are seen just mere products, means to get money, things that don't matter. Living beings are mere objects, that humans use how ever they wish, cause they are JUST animals and we are humans, the superior species. That superiority is highly destructive and in the end it WILL backfire on us and destroy us. It has already begun.
World Rhino Day is on September 22 and celebrates all five species of rhino: Black, white, greater one-horned, Sumatran and Javan rhinos.
World Rhino Day was first announced by WWF-South Africa in 2010. The following year, World Rhino Day grew into an international success, encompassing both African and Asian rhino species.
I’ve actually heard someone say “ I’m not going vegan cause of the way your showing me this. It’s so upsetting now I don’t want to be vegan.” Or “ I don’t wanna see this it’s too awful” THEN WHY DO YOU PUT THEM THROUGH IT?!? Fucking dumb ass #veganism#veganfortheplanet#veganfortheanimals#vegan#govegan
It was my first time trying the lentil ragu from Zizzi and I loved it 💕 I decided that, because I didn’t get pizza. It was acceptable to get the dessert calzone too 🙊🍝

#Animals and #Nature are Essential to our own Humanity!
For centuries, poets and philosophers extolled the benefits of a walk in the woods: Beethoven drew #inspiration from rocks and trees; Wordsworth composed a while tromping over the Heath; and Tesla conceived the #electric motor while visiting a park. Intrigued by our storied renewal in the natural world, Florence Williams set out to uncover the #science behind #natures positive affects on the brain.
In this informative and entertaining account, Williams investigates cutting – edge research as she travels to fragrant cypress #forests in #Korea to meet the Rangers who administer forest #healing programs, to the green hills of Scotland and it’s eco-therapeutic approach to caring for the mentally ill, to a river trip in Idaho with Iraq war vets suffering from PTSD, to the West Virginia mountains where she discovers how being outside helps children with ADHD.
The Nature Fix demonstrates that our connection to nature is much more important to our #cognition than we think and that even small amounts of exposure to the living #world can improve our #creativity and enhance our mood. In prose that is incisive, witty, and urgent, Williams shows how time in #nature is not a luxury but it is in fact essential to our humanity. As our #modern lives shift dramatically indoors, these ideas – and the answer is the yield – are more urgent than ever.
