  • Today is the day I fly to England! I will be flying alone for the first time and I’m super nervous but I guess part of me feels a bit like Bilbo at the beginning of the hobbit 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve got a long couple of days ahead of me but I’ll keep you guys updated on my story. My spring feed is about to be plunged into autumn again but I cannot wait to take photos and experience everything. Wish me luck and have a great weekend! 💖💖💖 Have you ever travelled alone before?

  • Has anyone else been gobbling up all the autumn food? Pumpkin bread, hot apple cider, tea, candy corn, banana muffins, pie...*happy sigh* I’ve been living off cider the last week. 😍 . Autumn feels like a fairytale to me. I don’t know how else to explain it, but all the wonderful magical things seem to happen during this season. (Though my “cloud nine” attitude might also have something to do with the fact I’m anticipating welcoming Halfling into the world.) . If you could pair fairytales with seasons, what would you pick? Here are my choices: . FALL: Little Red Riding Hood (because food, walking through forests, and capes.) WINTER: Beauty and the Beast SPRING: Rapunzel SUMMER: The Little Mermaid . Also, that gorgeous plaid book cozy is from @livethecozylife and I adore it! It’s like sneaking autumn into my purse!

  • "... until you attain a freedom of self and separation and release from all the imprisoning selves of others, you will not obtain anything." -Forough Farrokhzad * Forough Farrokhzad was not just an amazing pre-revolution Iranian poet. She was also an incredible person. She suffered rejection from her father, she married young, then she divorced young. She loved hard and wrote about it. She used sensual language that had never been used so openly in print before by a woman. She talked about pleasure in love which blacklisted her by many. The love of her life was a filmmaker named Ebrahim Golestan, a man who encouraged her in her gifts. * One of her top accomplishments was staying at a leper colony and making an emotional documentary about it named The House is Black. She died in a car accident, still in her 30s. Her poetry was later banned for years after the Iranian rev. I've read a biography on her and all the material I could find. She was truly fascinating. I feel a deep connection with some of her experiences because they have been mine as well. Theres a new bio. On her I want to read, but it is in Farsi which I can read unfortunately. * "I believe one thing, too, and that is 'being a poet' in every moment of life. Being a poet means being a human being" * This quote sums up how I've felt about my writing for years. I gather images and experiences from life and attempt to craft them into something beautiful. * Do you file away phrases or images from your life to use later on? * The first pic is an outtake because I didnt realize I was showing the back cover, but I like how it has a Miami vibe to it. Swipe to see the front cover. * * * * * * * #foroughfarrokhzad #iranianpoetry #poetry #book #bookish #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #bibliophile #booklover #reading #writing #readersofinstagram #readersofig #bibliophile #bookaholic #bookphotography #bookfeaturepage #mybookfeatures #bookishfeature #bookstagramfeature #readingissexy #booksofinstagram #fashionphotography #fashionista #fashionaddict #bookporn #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #bookgram

. . Kedua, you should know when to stop. . . 4⭐

  • I love David Foster Wallace’s writing so much, but I don’t think the essays in this posthumously-published book work well as a collection, so I’d never recommend this as someone’s introduction to him. Part of his appeal is that DFW is precise with his language and has the ability to coax truths and personal/societal reflections from unlikely subject matter (lobsters, tennis, concession stands). He’s also skilled at changing register from formal and academic to super casual and folksy, sometimes in the same piece. This skill is obvious in this collection, which features essays original published in a wide variety of publications, like an Oxford Thesaurus, Tennis Magazine, and The Review of Contemporary Fiction. The essays here range from the 1980’s to the early 2000’s, and they’ve all been written with vastly different audiences in mind, so the downside is that the collection feels uneven and cobbled together. It also includes a few essays that I found really boring, including a review of a book I’ve never read and a movie I’ve never seen (sry Terminator 2). . My favorite essay in the collection is his introduction to the 2007 Best American Essays anthology. It’s called Deciderizarion 2007, and, among other things, it’s about the vast amount of information we have access to every day and the uncomfortable reality of outsourcing our decision-making to experts. This quote feels particularly prescient in light of the 2016 election: “There’s no way that 2004’s reelection could have taken place (...) if we had been paying attention and handling information in a competent grown-up way.” 4/5 . . . . . #bookstagram #bookgram #bookreview #bookrecommendation #bookphotography #books #bookish #booklover #igreads #instareads #instabook #bibliophile #reading #bookstagrammer #booknerd #bookworm #reader #currentlyreading #booklove #unitedbookstagram #bookishfeature #bookstagramfeature #lovetoread #booksoutofdoors

• • #cityofbones #cassandraclare #themortalinstrument #TMI #alec #izzy #clary #jace #magnus #shadowhunters #cazadoresdesombras #ciudaddehueso #reseña #review #bookobsessed #asthetic #bookstagram #bookworm #bookish #booklover #bookfreak #bookreview #goodreads #YAnovel #youngadult #youngadultbooks #book #malec

  • Beautiful #Repost by @throneoftales • • • • • ✨✨ H A P P Y B O O K B I R T H D A Y ✨✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have always wanted to read Hodge’s books because they are fantasy retellings and retellings have a special place in my heart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Q: Have you read any of Hodge’s works or the first book of this series? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨✨✨✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Blurb: In the last days of the world, the walls of Viyara are still falling, and the dead are rising faster than ever. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Juliet is trapped—ordered by Lord Ineo of the Mahyanai to sacrifice the remaining members of her family, the Catresou, to stave off the end of the world. Though they’re certain his plan is useless, Juliet and her former friend Runajo must comply with Lord Ineo’s wishes—unless they can discover a different, darker path to protecting Viyara. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Romeo is tortured: finally aware that his true love is alive, he is at once elated and devastated, for his actions led directly to the destruction of her clan. The only way to redemption is to offer his life to the Catresou to protect and support them . . . even if it means dying to do so. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When Romeo’s and Juliet’s paths converge once again, only a journey into Death will offer answers and the key to saving them all—but is it a journey either of them will survive? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨✨✨✨ #bookstagramfeature #bookstagram #bookworm #bookish #booksofinstagram #booknerd #booklove #bookaholic #bookphotography #bookme #booklover #bookfeaturepage #bookblogger #bookishfeatures #mybookishfeatures #mybookfeatures #bookfeaturepage #blog

  • Happy Sunday! 🌿💛 I've had such a lovely weekend seeing Macbeth at @popupglobeau with @dcrismale and @theliterarypiper ✨ We also got matching Groundlings shirts cause we're too bloody cute. I would highly recommend seeing a play at the Globe if you get a chance - the cast and performances are brilliant! I personally loved Much Ado About Nothing in Melbourne, but that's simply because I love comedies. 🙈 Q: What's your favourite Shakespeare play?

  • 😊HaPpY SaTuRdAy GuYs! 🎃 I finished reading 🕵️‍♀️ THE STRANGER DIARIES 🕵️‍♀️ by Elly Griffiths. Author of the Ruth Galloway mysteries, THE STRANGER DIARIES is her debut stand-alone novel. 🕵️‍♀️ • I had the opportunity to meet Elly at Bouchercon this year where she was talking about her new book and handing out signed ARCs. 👌Publication date is 3.5.19 in the U.S. and 11.5.18 in the U.K. You can request an ecopy from @netgalley right now. This book is PERFECT for the Fall/Halloween season.🕷 • An intoxicating whodunnit murder mystery with a noir feel; Griffiths introduces us to Clare Cassidy, a literature teacher with an interest in the gothic writings of R.M. Holland. 🕵️‍♀️🔪🕷• When Clare’s colleagues start turning up dead and notes are found next to their bodies siting passages from Holland’s book, THE STRANGER, Clare begins writing about the murders in her diary. Only later does she discover that someone has been in her diary, leaving her messages. Who’s leaving these messages? Could it be the killer? 🕷🔪🕵️‍♀️ • Told from multiple points of view (Clare, Clare’s daughter; Georgia, and Harbinder, one of the detectives assigned to solving the murders), this is a fun, slightly creepy, ghostly tale that you won’t want to put down. Rating FOUR (4) ⭐️s. 🕵️‍♀️🔪🕷 • #thestrangerdiaries #bookstagram #october #booksofinstagram #bookdragon #book #bookclub #bookworm #pittsburgh #coffee #coffeehouse #mystyle #ontheblog #goodreads #igreads #creepy #bookishfeatures #bookish #newyork #movie #bookmark #bookaholic #bookshop #mystery #scary #scarystories #halloween #halloweendecor #reading #readersofinstagram

  • Maybe aesthetically pleasing photo, I don’t know.. Anyway, keep reading if you want to. I’ve had people get upset at me for “going ghost” on social media. Like I have to give a heads up that I was taking a break. I’ve had text messages and phone calls of people accusing me of blocking them. Here’s my response to that... Calm the fuck down, seriously. There’s nothing wrong, I’m not mad, I’m not on the edge of a break down or going psycho lol. I love each and every one of you, that’ll never change. Thank you for all of the support, without you all I wouldn’t have made a return and stopped writing. Update on my WIP, I’m STILL working on my Dark Drama Suspense Series. The photo doesn’t even show everything I’ve worked on the past year. I swear this series is going to be the death of me 🤣 This is the longest I’ve taken to write a rough draft and I’m okay with that😊 For the most part I think my writing has improved and I love the new direction I’m taking this story. I have a ton of research and outline still left to do because I need this book to be the best I can make it. I would like to release it in Fall of 2020 but I’m not sure, just a goal 😊💜 Thank you for reading 💖

  • This book beautifully expresses how much mamas love their babies. It’s all the words you want to say to your little ones in perfectly rhyming couplets. Little readers are introduced to life’s wonderful joys – from sunlight to moonbeams, flowers, apples growing on a tree and treasure. And then they're reminded that we think they are even better. I LOVE the illustrations. I’ve been a fan of Sydney illustrator Emma Quay since I discovered her cheeky Rudie Nudie story, but I think this book is her best yet. The pictures are divine. There’s sweet little babies on every page and my kids loved pointing out which babies were really them – my girls were particularly impressed to spot twins! And there were triplets too. This is the perfect baby shower gift, destined to become the last book before lights out, lulling little ones to sleep with sweet messages of love. And the ending makes it a read aloud for older kids too – perhaps one to pull out after a challenging day to remind you both how much you love them, and always will. 😊📚💖 My Sunbeam Baby is out tomorrow. It's written and illustrated by #EmmaQuay @emma_quay_books, published by #harpercollins @harperkidsau. I received this book from the publisher. 😊📚💖 #bibliophile #bookworm #bookstagram #instabook #kids #newbaby #babybook
