If you had to choose two book characters, from any book, to get into a fight to the death, who would you choose?
#bookreadhappyhour | Main Character Showdown: Who would win in a fight? | Look, I’d love to see Inej and Aelin go at it in a knife fight as much as the next person…but really, I want to see Kaz and Aelin engaging in a battle of vengeance and plotting. I honestly don’t know who would win. Those two are so good at having plans A-Z going at all times.
#bookqueensnov18 | Sarah J Maas or Leigh Bardugo | *sigh* Bardugo wins for me. I think. Fudge. No, I definitely prefer Bardugo.
#grimdragon | Let’s Battle
#novinbooks18 | favorite anti-hero/heroine | basically everyone in the core crew of Six of Crows
#totallybookednovember | funny character
#fearyournovelnovember | feels like fall
#bookstagrammerreadsnovember | Favorite bookish prince | DORIAN!
Good afternoon my sweet little bean sprouts
I have been truly swamped with uni work doing a side project for a competition and trying to do my disseretation so no reading has been done booo😢
🍂Tell me your latest 5 star read🍂
Hope you all have a wonderful day🖤
Confession: this book stack has been sitting on my desk for ages, neglected and unread 😭 Anyone else have a TBR pile that keeps getting bigger? Which from the pile will you read next? It'll be The Haunting of Hill House for me!
Also, a huge thank YOU for all the support on my shop launch yesterday! I've been shy in the past about sharing it, but I'll be sure to post fun shop/art things more often now. Love y'all 🖤
This year I’ve tried to limit my book buying. It’s been an off and on success... I have more UNread books on my shelf than read and sometimes I get really overwhelmed by it. Not because they’re unread, but because I want to read them all. I have hoards of books that I’m desperate to read and yet I’ve put them off again and again. It’s a common bookworm problem. Here is a stack of books I’ve gotten in the last two months - all of them I’m desperate to read!
🍂Wundersmith - the newest in a favorite middle grade fantasy series (GO READ NEVERMOOR)
🍂Louisiana’s Way Home - another middle grade from one of my all-time favs Kate DiCamillo (I had no idea she had another book coming out. I just happened to walk past a display featuring her newest and snatched it!)
🍂There There - I’ve wanted to read this book all year. I’ve heard INCREDIBLE things and am so eager to get to this powerful novel
🍂I’ll Be There For You - a nonfic book about Friends. Sign me UP.
🍂Virgil Wander - probably my most anticipated book of the year by the incomparable Leif Enger. I cannot believe I haven’t read this one yet. I’d smack myself upside the head if I could. 🙈
See any books you’d like to read in that stack? Any you’ve already read? What’s the newest book purchase you’ve made?? Let’s talk!

I got to read a book and finish it and I really enjoyed it
I got to have a bath with a glorious bath bomb which I'm thankful exists.
I also came across this picture in my gallery and I'm really happy how it turned out so I'm 're posting it again.
🍂Tell me about a little thing that made you happy today🍂
I'm off to play assasins creed and continue to procrastinate with my disseretation😂
One of my fav places to hang out on Facebook is the 'Your Kid's Next Read' (YKNR) group, started in 2016 by author Allison Tait and moderated by Al, along with author Allison Rushby and myself.
It's a really supportive group of parents, educators, librarians and authors with an interest in books for kids from 0-18. With over 5000 members there is sure to be an answer (or 20) regarding what your kid should read next, regardless of if they are a reluctant or avid reader.
Recently Allison Tait asked for suggestions for best books for various age ranges and the answers from members and moderators are on the blog now. Search for 'Best Books for 3-8 Year Olds'. Link in bio.
Intrygi. Kłamstwa. Tajemnice. Niedopowiedzenia. Rodzinne dramaty.
Historia niesamowicie wciąga i absorbuje. I warto ją przeczytać.
Got some snacks while was getting Thanksgiving supplies and snuck into the café for some reading time. ☺️
I’ve been loving American Gods. I haven’t been getting as much reading time as I want (need) lately but there’s only THREE more weeks left of this term and I’ll be done with my math requirement. 😣
Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow to everyone in America! 🥂
Hello darlings!
🇬🇧 «No mourners, no funerals». If there’s a world that I love as Harry Potter is the Grishaverse. I fell in love with Six of crows and the Grisha Trilogy is amazing 😍 I’m so happy that I could read Leigh Bardugo ❤️

“Some things exist in our lives for but a brief moment. And we must let them go on to light another sky.”, “The Wrath and The Dawn”, by Renée Ahdieh 🔥😭✨ 🇮🇹: Quando cerchi di fare un cosplay in cinque minuti e fallisci miseramente...😅
🤔 IO ME LO MERITAVO KHALID! 😭
🤔 🇬🇧: Hello lovelies! 😘
Here I am trying to cosplay Despina from “The Wrath and The Dawn” and failing miserably because I can’t do cosplay in five minutes...🙈
Still please enjoy the utter beauty of the paperback covers of this amazing duology, perfect for the prompt “Duology or Trilogy?” for #bookqueensnov18 ! 🔥
I love this duology, and I do love duologies both because they make me save money but also because I do love how an author can build a world in two books! 😍
#novlitwrit “World TV Day: Fan-Book-To-TV-Adaptation” and it’s probably “Games of Thrones”, because... ain’t nobody got time to read all those freaking books! 🙈🤣
Are you more a fan of duology or trilogy? 🤔 (Also are you on team Khalid? 🤔 LIKE WHERE IS MY KHALID?! 🤔).
“Every locked door has a key. Every problem has a solution.” - Warcross, Marie Lu
Happy Wednesday, lovelies! 🤗 School has been getting expotentially crazier which means that so has my procrastination. 😂 Can you believe that I've bought almost all the Christmas gifts already?! (That was yesterday's procrastination dose. 😂 But at least I did something semi-useful with my time, right? 😂🙏)
On another note, I am halfway through Wildcard and I already had a few hyperventilating sessions (I'm looking at you, chapter 16). 😱😭 This duology definitely took me by surprise and I am enjoying it a lot! 💙 Plus the characters are just great - the good, the "bad" and side ones! 😍 These were also my first Marie Lu books and I am even more excited now to pick up her other works!
So if you've read this dulogy (or even just Warcross), hit me up. 😂 I have to discuss these books with someone and fangirl over Emika and Hideo and just... You know, try to make sense of everything happening in them?! 😂😱
QOTD1: Which book was the last one that took you by surprise? 🤗
QOTD2: Which position in Warcross would you fill? Would you be the Leader, the Fighter, the Architect, the Thief or the Shield? 🤔😍
Stay badass! 💙💪
🌟 Rezensionsexemplar 🌟

Dracula by Bram Stoker ✔️
Dracula is an 1897 Gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker. Famous for introducing the character of the vampire Count Dracula, the novel tells the story of Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England so he may find new blood and spread undead curse, and the battle between Dracula and a small group of men and women led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing. .
What I liked:
- Journal story style. I did sometimes feel all journals had a similar style and voice, but I liked how they connected the story and characters together.
What I didn't like:
- Depiction of women. I don't know if this was done on purpose to show how women were viewed at the time but almost all male characters in the book would go on and on how women are fragile and incompetent🙄
- Van Helsing. Mainly because he knew everything, kept it a secret, then let people guess what they think was happening, before telling them they were wrong and saying what was really happening.
My Final Thoughts:
I don't know why I keep comparing it with Frankenstein. I did enjoy Frankenstein a lot more but I also really liked Dracula. It's a classic of a story and character that everyone knows. It did bother me how most of the female characters were inferior to the male characters and will definitely look into it as I'm starting to wonder if this was done on purpose 🤔 but I can't deny it's beautifully written with gothic tones and a must read 🧛🏻♂️
I know this is not a book pic, but lets break it up just a little haha. The Exorcist steps. They aren't really, this was taken on the street I'm currently working- The Quay in Exeter.... Exercist steps- that was rather poor even on my part 😂😂 when I first spotted them, I was instantly reminded of the steps from the Exorcist. I have no solid books on me at the moment, I'm using my kindle app to read a few comics and chilling out in the evenings. I miss holding a book in my hands 😄 I am absolutely loving my first couple of days working away. Some obstacles in the way, on the job, but that's how it goes. The good and the bad. Lol!
Speaking of the Exorcist- it has to be one of my favourite books of the year so far. I loved it. It scared the shit out of me😂🙈 Anyway, I hope you are all well, and I hope you all had/have a great day! ❤
"I should like to save the Shire, if I could - though there have been times when I thought the inhabitants too stupid and dull for words, and have felt that an earthquake or an invasion of dragons might be good for them."

No i zamieszkał ze mną ciepły, miły w dotyku, wodoodporny ochraniacz w kolorze czarnym, przyozdobiony uroczymi duchami.
Zatem chwalę etui i polecam każdemu!
Kto z Was korzysta z etui na książkę? Jakie macie wrażenia z użytkowania?

I once read The Quiet American by Graham Greene and quite liked it, but I have yet to read this one. Have you read any Graham Greene?
Also I am amazed by the response on my last photo. Thank you for your likes and a giant thank you to those who tried to calm me down with the whole wisdom tooth thing 😄
Happy Thanksgiving Eve 🦃 I have been on a bit of a graphic novel kick this week. I've already read 5 and I'm in the middle of another one right now. After I get caught up on The Beauty series, I plan on picking up this book. I was originally going to save it for next month, but I really want to read it now so that's what I'm going to do. Are you a mood reader or do you like to stick to a plan? ⠀
P.S. Let me know if you're interested in what graphic novels I've been reading. I can share them in my stories later this evening if you are curious.⠀
Another festive purchase today. This time the 2014 release from @authorjillianeaton I read it on kindle when it first released but there's something really comforting about actually holding the paperback in your hands.
Plus that cover is hella purdy 😍🎄 Check out the blurb for both stories ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Two Christmas novellas guaranteed to warm your heart this holiday season... THE WINTER WISH
Lady Sarah Dawson has one simple wish for Christmas: to gain the attention of Devlin Heathcliff, the handsome viscount whom she has loved for as long as she can remember. All hope seems lost...until one afternoon fate steps in and Sarah learns that sometimes, with a little holiday magic, winter wishes can come true.
THE RISQUE RESOLUTION
Due to a clause in her father's will, Lily has until Christmas to find a husband. It's a seemingly impossible task...until she meets the mysterious, insufferable, and oh so handsome Captain James Rigby. But the last thing on the embittered soldier's mind is marriage, especially to Lily Kincaid, a woman who is as infuriatingly stubborn as she is beautiful. With time running out, can Lily convince James - and herself - that true love really does exists?
PLEASE NOTE: Both 'The Winter Wish' and 'The Risque Resolution' are previously published novellas and are available for purchase individually.
Lots of you know I don't really do book reviews, but I'll make an exception for Paper Children.
'Paper Children' is the 3rd book in the Phoebe Harkness series by James Fahy. In my opinion, it combines the best elements of books 1 & 2 (Hell's Teeth and Crescent Moon) and this makes it the best in the series so far.
The challenge that some authors struggle with in an ongoing series is how to develop characters without resorting to the cliched 'long forgotten traumatic event' or some other hideously contrived situation that plagues so many series and immediately turns me off as a reader. James Fahy has taken the route of bringing some of the more secondary characters to the fore in this book, and it's a real winning formula. I was particularly happy to see Cloves being given a larger role in this book, I do enjoy her acerbic comments! There is also a returning character from book 2 who steals every scene they are in with some great dialogue. One gets the impression that Mr Fahy has invested some character traits from people he knows well, or maybe even himself, into these characters, and so is very comfortable writing them.
The thing that really shines through for me is that Mr Fahy really keeps the reader in mind. This book has numerous plot strings, but it doesn't feel like that. You don't have to do any work to keep track of them. The book reads exceptionally well. I purposely read this as I read books normally, a little here and a little there. I think an hour was the longest single session I spent with this and at one point I had to put it aside for a couple of days totally, yet it still was very easy to pick back up again.
One of the things that permeates this book is the fun that James Fahy seems to have had writing these characters. Phoebe's pop culture references spring from every page, which, in lesser hands, could prove to be an annoying affectation but it's so obviously part of what makes her character come to life that it just feels right.
Anyone who follows Mr Fahy's social media will be well acquainted with his sense of humour, and it's fully on show in this book. (Contd in comments)
