Everything happens for a reason, and I truly believe that. Visiting Assisi wasn’t planned, but it ended up being one of the destinations and even from afar driving on the highway, seeing the city lit up at night sitting perfectly at the top of the mountain I was drawn to it. “I don’t know what that is,” I said as I pointed in its direction, “but I hope that’s Assisi.” And so it was. This is a small town surrounded by nature, home to St. Francis, an empathetic man, lover of nature and patronage of animals. Values and characteristics that align almost perfectly with my own. This was no coincidence for me to visit this town, I was meant to see it. A city of natural stone and quiet tranquility in the hillsides, made this part of my Italian adventure, my favorite.
