The Jet Star Roller Coaster, #newjersey
The #abandoned Jet Star #rollercoaster was once a popular attraction between the 70's and 00's. The owners did attempt to sell the site but it was not financially viable to refurbish it.

‘The south of Bulgaria was once ruled by the ancient Thracian kings, and there remain a number of royal burial mounds spread far and wide across these grassy plains. In the city of Plovdiv, a 1974 monument set out to recreate the grandeur of those ancient burial grounds in the form of the “Hillock of Fraternity.”’ - altasobscura
The eternal flame inside the concrete wreath died a long time a ago. Although the monument has fallen into disrepair, its secured underground interior is in a much better state than exterior, rendered with less contemptuous graffiti.
The 90m long sculptural composition by Lubomir Dalchev that depicted the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule, the Unification of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian partisan movement and “the victory of socialism” in 1944 are now far removed from public view. The beheaded sculptures are locked away and ‘protected’ from vandals, heroes turned prisoners alongside the remains of socialist partisan fighters from the Plovdiv.
