WAT RAI KHING
วัดไร่ขิง, อำเภอสามพราน, จังหวัดนครปฐม
Wat Rai Khing is a large and important temple situated on extensive grounds alongside the Tha Chin River, west of Bangkok.
The temple can get extremely crowded with many devotees packing in to make merit there.
The temple's main Buddha image is called Luang Pho Wat Rai Khing (หลวงพ่อวัดไร่ขิง). The walls of the hall it's housed in are covered by beautiful murals.
The temple also has an extensive array of other Buddha images including ones plastered with gold leaf. The temple's grounds feature extensive displays of various statues and sculptures, including statues depicting the animals of the Chinese zodiac.
There's even a little mini river where you cast adrift small boats with candles as a form of making merit. It's totally fascinating walking around soaking up the interesting sights!
Wat Rai Khing is about an hour's drive west of Bangkok. It's located off Highway 3316, which turns northwards off Phetkasem Road, just past the famous Sampran Elephant Ground, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province.

Bangkok: threads of capitalist, decomposing suffering and irresistible, upscale beauty woven into a city that carries every worldly tension. I smell sanctity and exploitation. I’m powerless, heartbroken and smitten. Unquenchable loneliness to my left and thrill-seeking materialism to my right; Like the inevitable, ugly death of this world being swallowed by a pure and loving light. My religion has been lost and found. #bangkokthailand#bangkok#bkk#bkkfashion#messylover#poetry#queer
