I simply want to say thank you for all the conversations happening around the Jane Elliott show. I’m learning so much from the conversations on this platform, @redtabletalk platforms, and YOUR platforms from those of you who are posting about it. We don’t have to agree to have engaging, informative, and enlightening conversations. We barely scratched the surface. This conversation deserves a deeper dive and several more shows. And yes, Jane MUST come back! I would also love a table with Bell Hooks, @gloriasteinem, @michaelaangelad, @americaferrera, and some up and comers I’m keeping my eye on @diverse_solidarity and @spiritual_jada.
School me. Who am I missing for our next tables on this matter???
Sound off below 💛 ✨

The practice of white female superiority has been a subtle but brutal reality in my life. Many white women have made it clear that they believe they are prettier, smarter, and the “standard” of a “quality” woman. Making it even more clear that because of this, black women are not worthy of their friendship or support in any substantial way. Some white women are unknowingly benefiting from this social standard, and some women of color are unknowingly suffering, which is why I believe this discussion is important. But I realized in the making of this show that superiority of any kind creates separatism. I have without a doubt practiced celebrity superiority only to realize it creates the SAME pain I experience from white female superiority. It's more of the same in a different form. We all want to practice comparative superiority of some kind because we are all terrified to simply....be. We are ALL HUMAN no matter our gifts, skin color, or economic status. I hope this show can illuminate for us all how we practice comparative superiority in some way through our many prejudices and/or the need to feel more special than someone else. Self evaluate after this one. The change starts within. I love you guys ❤️ Link in profile #RedTableTalk@redtabletalk

This show was deep for me. One of my takeaways was that without anger in my fuel tank for the conversation, it was difficult for me to reach the thoughts I wanted to covey. This show taught me the need to learn HOW to reach and convey my deepest truth in a state of compassion. When I’m angry I can say it all, but the results are hardly ever positive. I realized my compassion was making me very careful and cautious at times so I couldn’t always get to the meat of the matter in my mind.
Learning to have thorough, deeply honest conversations, with compassion as the fuel instead of anger, is quite a skill set. But...I’m ready to learn how to get deeper with compassion around issues like these.
And Jane! Came with a messaggggge!
Meet us at the table tomorrow! #RedTableThoughts@RedTableTalk#RedTableTalk

I am so proud of you for so many things but mostly for your deep desire to grow. You and I have been on parallel journeys as of late and I’ve been blessed to witness the power of your love for yourself and your family through the process. You inspire me every day as I watch you climb the mountain of self-actualization. You are not only my bonus son, but my friend. Thank you for the many ways you have held my hand through the years. I’m learning every day how to hold yours in the many different ways that you need. I love you. Happy birthday my sweet Trey! 💕

This Monday we will be talking about the issue of race through the lens of women with anti-racism activist Jane Elliott. When race is addressed it’s usually examined through the male experience. Very rarely do women have the opportunity to address this subject and express how we are affected as women in an open forum. This show only scratches the surface. There is sooooo much left to discuss...but it’s a start. Race is always a tough subject to talk about. The purpose of this discussion is to simply gain more understanding.
Let’s be gentle. Let’s be compassionate and willing and open to understanding, even if we don’t agree. I love all my sisters from every background and my only desire is to deepen the love between us. I hope to see you at the table on Monday ❤️✨ #RedTableTalk@redtabletalk

As we are preparing for a possible evacuation, I’m sending prayers and strength to all the families affected by the fires and the massacre in Thousand Oaks. It’s been a tough few days. Keep the love flowing. We all need it ❤️✨
